Just like how 'Femina' has more male readers than females!!!

+1 Its every Individuals own perception :OT pink colour was associated with Females but we see many corporate men's wearing Pink Shirts with Tie lol:

At the end of the day it is up to us what we like by keeping aside the gender. Saw a picture in news paper of Ranbeer Kapoor as brand ambassador, he was seating on bonnet and Micra seemed to be a tad bigger than what i anticipated it to be.

I just thought about an idea, can we have an survey added to this thread.
We will let the Auto Gurus take a stand if this product will succed or fail. Ideally this poll should be open till the first month sales figures. Especially because of the fact the forum is so divided on its opinion.

Belive me its gonna be fun when we get to know the acutal figures.
In fact, I would recommend for all new prod discussion we should have such polls added.

What say guys?

Micra Tv ads.

Just saw the ads... the car looks pretty decent after all! I kinda like the orange colour.

That said, it still has a very feminine look. Should go down well with the women!

I'm going to kiss and cuddle mine every day! Maybe, if I do it right, she'll let me unlock that door, run my fingers over that steering wheel... touch that engine control and... drive!

Oh YES ...to a feminine car

lol:

(Sorry... got carried away there! ;))

Micra is really growing on me now. Looks like a baby Porsche. & just like a Porsche, its beauty lies in its quirkyness.

But I don't like the metallic copper that they have been strutting around for their press launches. IMO looks best in lighter colors esp white. Interior still too plasticky.

The front and rear profiles are ok..but the side profile seems a little odd. I would agree that its a ladies car. The interiors are millions of miles away from being sporty. Even if the prices were attractive, I would prefer the Beat.

Love the looks. Very curvy and feminine - yes. But it has an identity in the large set of boxy hatches around. And i go with Mpower - it does look like a baby (and i am using it in a very liberal way) Porsche!

When's the release? Is the car on display in Bangalore showrooms? I would like to check out Nissan Bangalore showroom this weekend. And when's the official confirmation on pricing announced?

Spoke to Shahwar Nissan. They said the car is available at 4.8L OTR for XE and 6.9L OTR for XV.

The first batch deliveries start by Jul 15.

Do remember Bangalore is the costliest when it comes to cars. Other places could be as low as 30K from BLR OTR prices.

Nissan has given a press report that it has 400+ bookings for Micra.

for me it looks very pessimistic numbers.

The side profile looks more like Spark

There is a half page coloured ad in today TOI Mumbai Edition. Somehow the ad is not very great and appealing. And the car shown is same metallic copper colour with Ranbir standing next to it with a very funny face.

The reason they chose Ranbir Kapoor to be the brand ambassador -

"...Talking about the launch campaign, Abhijeet Pandit, VP- Operations, Hover Automotive India said, "We wanted the communication to convey the car's positioning. It is a small-sized urbaniser, its features make it easy and stress-free to drive. We appointed Ranbir Kapoor as our brand ambassador as we saw lots of similarities between the two. Ranbir comes from a well known family, the Micra comes from the well known Nissan family. Also, Ranbeer is good looking and very passionate about the various roles that he gets in movies. Similarly, the Micra is good looking and can serve varied roles too."

What nonsense all this advertising is.

What's "uber-cool"? Even worse, what's Ford's completely fictional (?) "Fida"?

Hey, such advertising works, or they wouldn't spend a fortune on it. Worldwide. Doesn't say much for the intelligence of us buyers.
