Damn ! Looks like Koreans are getting a relapse of UCS "Ugly Car Syndrome". They were suffering from acute UCS many years back and had pulled out of it but this Verna Transform shows that there is some sort of relapse. Have these guys been hanging around near the Mahindra design center by any chance??

Isn't this the 2nd gen(Zipdrive)'s grille?

Hey that definitely isn't OT!
Oh, and thanks for the indirect advice. Though I love its looks (I'm weird), I won't let my dad drop me off to school in a new verna!!!

BTW, I've seen quite a few Karnataka State Govt. Vernas.
Can't wait to see the New verna with a government board on the front., and if possible a red light!
I'd prefer my dad's Indigo or his boss's lal-batti Altis instead anyday instead.

Note to all those who are interested in buying a Verna : RUN!! be quick!! there still might be some pre facelift cars left with the dealers!!

Advice to Hyundai Designers:
1) Back away from the bong pipe
2) Get your eyes checked...

Hmmm... spotted a brand new pre-facelift Verna yesterday.

Not so Bad after all !

The new Verna design is not so bad if you blacken the central portion of the front grille..have done a terrible PS for representation.

Looks a bit Yaris'ish....but way better than the insect design ! The headlights seem to be inspired from the Ford fiesta.

^^ I agree. I have seen the car in person, If you remove the grille (Just like JishD's PS mod) the rest of design is pretty OK.

I've never seen a grille design like this before. Looks funny and childish.

I never liked the design of Verna, and this would be the ugliest on the road.

BTW, Even I see the Santa Fe's design is decades old. It doesn't have a new age design.

Wow remarkable improvement. So the best thing for potential owners to enhance the looks of the car would be to knock the front teeth off with a hammer. Nice, thanks to Hyundai we get fun ways to mod the car.

I am really happy for all the current Verna owners.

Hyundai has made a decent looking car into an ugly contraption! Inspired from M&M?

What's with hyundai designers? Are they human? Or humans smoking wrong stuff.

Verna was always dull to look at. Now its downright UGLY.

damn. When I was thinking that Hyundai has got their act right by launching such beautiful models as the i20 they again do a shocker by bringing this transform.somebody rightly said it looks like having drawn inspiration from first gen santro's grille.
I was waiting for the fluid theory or whatever they call design, which has been doing rounds for so long on the net.
I just hope its a end life refresh or facelift before they bring in the real deal next year.

When a new model is out, there should be major discounts on stock of the old. Would I be surprised if dealers here haven't heard of that concept? I don't know, but colour me cynical

C'mon guys, it does not look that bad!! Leaving aside the 'front grill' and 'chrome rear license plate garnish' to me it does look better than the old one.
