I am Expecting GM sales to get better with the cashless ownership being extended to all the cars in the GM stable. Its good to see Beat doing better sales than the Spark.

According newspaper report FORD planning to export 5000 figo's to South africa by the end of this year.
First consignment of 1200 cars shipped from Chennai yesterday (source The Hindu news paper). This may also add into their sales figure??

1 lakh discount was/is on for Palio (1.1, 1.3) mind you these are BS-III engines. Basically that brought Palio to the price levels of Indica-Xeta, Indica-Diesel. I guess this was tried to see if the discount helps pick-up the demand.

Fiat Numbers are steady around 2K marks. Considering above discount on Palio,

should we draw a conclusion that there are no takers for Palio 1.1 and 1.3MJD at 3lakh and 3.75 ex-showroom?

or

Palio demand picked up, but, there is a drop in Linea or Punto numbers?

Can someone share break-up by model for Fiat?

The January-June 2010 figures are even more impressive -- a growth of 86% over the corresponding period of the previous year. Do you have the model-wise breakdown?

Gilead: Thnks for the numbers. Considering that ford has about less than 1/4 of maruti's dealership's figo is a outstanding success. Ford's approach was good. Instead of a peice meal approach they came with a complete package.

Source: Mercedes India June sales surge | Autocar India

Mercedes Benz India saw its June sales nearly double than that of the same month last year. It sold 388 units for the said month as against 200 units in June 2009. With this, the company’s sales during January-June ’10 reached 2402 units, its best ever sales performance for the first half of a year.
The C 200 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY launched in mid May, got a postive response from the market with sales of over 320 units till June end.The above are the number of cars Mercedes Benz India sold to its dealers.

Excellent information as always Karp.
Really shocked to see Feista and Ikon figures. Looks like Figo is cannibalizing other Ford cars more than anything.

Thanks karpusv for the model wise break up! Nice to see that Polo numbers are increasing every month. As the Polo production increases every month, it won't take much time for VW to achieve i20 like numbers

Thank You karpusv for the sheet.

Coming to the segments of my passion, Toyota seems to very very clearly rule the roost with the Innova, the Fortuner and the LC Prado consistently.
4500 Innovas compared to 2600 Xylos, boy, that says something. And all this inspite of the Innova being priced much higher than the Xylo.

Even the Safari sales seem to be improving a lot. Guess the 2010 version has taken off well.

Totally, Ford was doing 1K of Ikon and 2K of Fiesta, wonder why this dip? Is it because they are focussing all their production on Figo?

Ya really shocking to see fiesta going down to 600's and Ikon to 200's. Compare it with Verna at 1800's and Accent at 1100's.

Dont think its because of Figo production as there is no waiting period for fiesta.

Wow! Polo numbers more than Punto, I guess that puts to rest the theory about A.S.S of VW and dealership reach within the country. VW could reach good numbers within a few months of the Polo launch without any discounts I suppose but not Fiat. I guess Fiat needs some serious thinking to do about general customer's perception regarding its A.S.S. Thats has been the biggest show stopper for it.

Cruze the topper in its segment is a big achivement for GM, indeed its a perfect car.
