Is the Skoda 24 X 7 on road assistance 2 year package worth , given that for 7-8 years older cars insurance companies dont provide 24X7 towing service and its restricted within 100 kms of stay of residence.

I was a happy Honda city person but opted for Skoda rapid automatic. Happy with DSG. However,

In spite of taking Skoda shield, I feel I'm billed for everything. Within 6 months of buying there was bad odour from AC so when I took it to the dealer, the filter etc was replaced & problem was solved without any charges.

But I got delayed for the 1st servicing by a month or so & I was charged 14,000/- for the service. Reason: delay. Also that for 1st service I'd have anyway had to pay nearly the same.
Then the electronic side mirror switch broke; which again I'd to pay for.
The AC vents which had broken in the first yr were replaced FOC.

Is this what happens?

Is wheel balancing covered under skoda shield?

Hi, I don't have the Shield so I will only comment on specific items:

Service intervals are strictly followed at Skoda and anything more than 500/1000 km and/or 1 week/2 weeks is considered to be a 'no-show'. However, I'm not sure if the Skoda system blocks the service out or whether the workshop has the right to take the call. In my opinion, 1 month delay was irresponsible on your behalf.

AC vent: you are lucky. Mine broke after 14 months and Skoda denied replacement. Asked me to pay 7k which was not accepted by me.

Other Shield owners can no doubt help you on the remaining bits.

I’m eyeing on a 2019 Octavia L&K TDI DSG. The dealer quote was

SKODA shield includes
6 years/ 1.5 Lakhs kms warranty
5th and 6th year RSA
1st year comprehensive insurance and 3years third party insurance

If I don’t opt for SKODA shield, then there is no option for extending the warranty for 5th and 6th year later on and insurance quote given is 90000 for 3 years(1st year-B2B, second and third-comprehensive).

Since I’m planning to exchange my Polo, I’ll get a NCB of 50% for the new car. If I can get it through SKODA shield, then it would have been nice a deal. Which one should I need to go for? I’m still not convinced about the three year insurance and SKODA shield
