I agree, the one above looks a little more funky and I quite like the grill. In the second pic, the grill suddenly reminds me of the Indica Vista or can fit into a TATA stable

Cannot edit so adding another post. Correction to the earlier one.

I meant Verna or Elantra perhaps. They will definately not market this as an Accent here in India. And its a 99% clone of the Sonata overseas (maybe not the same, but almost so nonetheless).

that is simply impossible cause its a CBU selling very little units so they cant afford to make india specific changes to it , also you haven been observent enough both are different cars look at the grills sonata has 3 horizontal lines for its grills and the other car has just 2 also the bonnet moulding is different

they cant market sonata as elantra my friend its just neither possible nor worth doing in that segment

Hyundai Accent/ Verna launched at the Beijing Motor Show. Looks like a shrinked Sonata to me.

The front looks a lot like the Altis, and the steering wheel reminds me of the current gen. Civic. I like it way more than the current Verna however.

Both interiors and exteriors looks much better then the current Verna.
Good job Hyundai

So when can we see this replacing current Verna here in India?

See, therein lies the problem for manufacturers who sell two generations, of the same car, side by side. Take the Accent & Verna, or the Octavia & Laura. They've trundled along just as well...BUT, what does the brand do when the third gen car comes around? Replace the 1st with the 2nd and bring in the 3rd at the same price point as the 2nd, or keep the 1st where it is (presumably cheap) and replace the 2nd with the 3rd?

I'm eagerly looking forward to how Hyundai & Skoda manage their product positioning, once the next gen Accent & Octavia are due for launch in India.

IMO it should be like this. Once you have two generations of the same car for sale and you are planning to bring in 3rd gen. plan well in in advance, say a year before, and start bringing down the cost of 2nd gen. by giving discounts to match up the price of 1st gen. this will automatically kill the 1st gen and then you can have only 2nd and 3rd gen. running on the road. Keeping 1st gen. and the 3rd gen. killing 2nd gen. will simply waste the improvements made in the 2nd gen. over 1st gen.

I hope Hyundai tries something which is not tried by the market leader!!!

Now if they're going to stick my i20's wonderful steering wheel into every single car they make, I'm not going to like it.

Hyundai Accent/RB with redesigned front debuts at the 2010 Moscow auto show. IMO,it looks better than the Chinese version.

It will look good only if they redesign the front foglamps/driving lamps. Its looks too out of proportion.

IMO, the RB Russia with it's hexagonal grille looks way better than the RB China with it's squished grille. But, what strikes me is that both these themes have now become Hyundai's official signature design language with the new i10, Elantra (Avante) and the ix35 (Tucson) taking the former and the Sonata YF taking the latter.

Internationally, Hyundai's design leaps with successive generations of models is awe-inspiring with dull, bland cars being completely transformed into stunning, sexy cars.

Hyundai India though, is doing a good job of still keeping the RB India a total secret and out of reach of spy photographers lurking around. But I wish it's the RB Russia which makes it's way into our country.
