On the KIA Optima... slightly in disagreement here. The new Optima is a completely new design, and looks quite elegant (exactly opposite to the flamboyance of i45). Maybe they share the same engines. I will say, the similarity is more like how Audi VW and Skoda share components and platforms. Just my 2 cents!

Sir, i have to correct you on the Kia Optima. The Kia Optima previous gen (used as taxis in Singapore) are re-badged and not re engineered sonatas. Heres an image of the car im talking about. The New Optima i cannot comment on as i havent seen it.

Got it, they are pretty good too. Since we were on the i45, I thought you were mentioning about the new Optima.

Anyway, back to the i45 now

Yesterday night (actually 12.45 am today morning, I was returning from Vellore, passing by the Hyundai factory. I was comfortably overtaking every single vehicle in my Elantra except that this huge monster SUV gained in seconds before I could shift to the right lane.

It overtook and flew in seconds..

I managed to catch up with it thanks to the truckers occupying both lanes..Looks like a really huge SUV.

Black, definitely not Santa Fe..initial logo from back looked like a KIA but later I realized it was a Hyundai..

The closest to the SUV I saw looks like the Vernacruz on the Hyundai Website.

it did have a long name and pity - I could not take photos..

The driver quickly slowed down and parked the car, fearing that I was chasing it for photos or something. I had my family, so I could not stop to take a second glance..

My first view - the SUV looks huge, its really fast and it looks really good AND not Santa Fe, Not Tuscon..I've driven the Tuscon and Santa Fe..

Question: Is Hyundai going to launch Vernacruz in India?..Or is there any other SUV in that segment

I want to add that the car I saw looks better than the Vernacruz on the website..so probably NOT a vernacruz..could this be the Tuscon replacement?..

@azifali - I guess you meant 'Veracruz' . not 'Vernacruz'. AFAIK Hyundai only has 3 SUVs - Tucson, Santa Fe and Veracruz.

BTW I looked up the Tuscon replacement images and I can confirm that it was a Tuscon replacement that I saw on the road

the head lamp treatment reminds me of W220 S Class. The new design sure has something regal about it.

my driver (in US) just purchased this car in white.

I have to admit its Stunning. I have never stared at a car for 3 minutes straight not able to decide which angle it looks better at.

Hyundai have done a spectacular job with this car. Pictures do it NO justice.

One of my friend has just returned from a trip to Seoul (South Korea). Just like most of us here, he is completely bowled over by this Korean beauty, the new YF Sonata. Not to mention that he was one of those brand snobs who vowed not to touch Hyundai in the above 10L rupee segment. This car has changed his perception once and for all. I am attaching some of the photos that he shared with me.

Looking at them, I would say, there isn't a single angle where the Sonata doesn't look good. Especially, the first pic (with the blacked out roof) and the third pic in which the Orange color shows off its curvy profile are stunning.

One of my friends happened to see the all-new i45 being tested in NH4 near Kanchipuram yesterday. Not surprisingly, he is bowled over by the design of this car. Hope this will be launched in India as soon as possible to give some serious competition to Honda Accord and Skoda Superb.

F24=2.4 theta 2 petrol
F24 GDI=2.4 GDI petrol.
