Incidentally, Matt just tested the RR Dawn in the 5th TG episode of season 23 and it was hilarious.
Hoping to compare the "review" of the same car from both, the new and the old presenter's perspective.

I think the chaps are trying to figure out which type of car makes the best road trip car.

James went full on luxury with the Rolls. Hammond bets it all on charisma and drama hence the hellcat (also he is secretly an American), Jeremy tries a blend of both with the Aston.

I am going to predict that the hellcat would be the best car for the duty. Rolls might prove a bit dull and the Aston is going to break down.

Anybody else got a hunch on this?

The Grand Tour: Gentle Rentals

Quote:
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May didn't take that rental car off road; probably. And it was definitely making that noise when it was rented it in the first place;well mostly.

I think I will pick the Rolls. Its very comfortable, has a powerful motor with locomotive grade torque so low down the rev range, slow steering, gets air suspension which can raise or lower the car, and its reliable too. And you sit tall inside with a commanding view of the road.

What more do you want for off-roading? Maybe a few fuel stations I guess.

Can't wait.

Slightly off topic:
With launch of Amazon Prime in India & availability of Amazon Video soon, does this mean we can watch 'The Grand Tour' legally in India? OR was there any other way to watch TV content available on Amazon Prime?

re: Top Gear trio to return on November 18th with "The Grand Tour", on Amazon Prime!

The Show's Format:

According to the hosts' contracts, the first series will feature a total of 12 episodes, with another 24 to come over the next two years, although that will probably be renewed for a longer period if the show is successful.

The format will be similar to the original Top Gear - a magazine show featuring pre-recorded films shot from across the globe. However, rather than the studio-audience recordings all taking place in one studio in the UK, The Grand Tour will travel to a different international location each week

These pre-recorded studio sections will be filmed in a giant green tent in front of a live audience. The only confirmed locations so far are Yorkshire, where all three hosts grew up, and Johannesburg, South Africa.

As well as Johannesburg and Yorkshire, Amazon has announced new studio locations in the UK, US and Germany.
"Fans have been asking us where The Grand Tour will be filming and how they can attend," said Jay Marine, the vice president of Amazon Video Europe. "We’re delighted to announce today new studio locations in the UK, US and Germany as we continue our plans to bring this anticipated Amazon Prime show to fans around the world."

The exact date and location of the UK episode is yet to be confirmed, although it is set to film in autumn. As for the US and Germany, details will be announced in due course.

Amazon also announced there will be regular prize draws to give lucky fans the chance to travel with The Grand Tour crew to attend the studio recordings across the globe.

More cities are expected to be added to the live audience filming schedule later this year.

Currently, fans can only apply for tickets for the show in Johannesburg, so the "Amazon competition is the only way to join the UK shoot for now".

An official start date is yet to be revealed, but what we do know is the show is coming in autumn 2016.
Unlike most original shows on streaming services - where every episode in the series becomes available at once, allowing viewers to watch at their own pace - ‘The Grand Tour’ will release one episode per week.

re: Top Gear trio to return on November 18th with "The Grand Tour", on Amazon Prime!

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May will be pitching a tent for The Grand Tour in America in September to film the next studio-audience segment of their motoring show. The upcoming Amazon Prime series will be shooting at an undisclosed location in southern California on September 23 and if you're so inclined to see the chaps live, try to score some (free!) tickets by clicking on the link below:

re: Top Gear trio to return on November 18th with "The Grand Tour", on Amazon Prime!

The new trailer shows no cars at all, instead featuring an inebriated Clarkson surrounded by a ship and the blue sea. Clarkson appears to be on a makeshift raft – probably as part of a challenge or task – and he also has a Castaway-esque ball called Wilson.
