The EDO modified Gallardo is swell. OT: All these tuners like Ruf, Edo, Vath etc are they affiliated to a particular manufacturer or do they tune any car. Also, does one have to buy the stock car first and then tune it or are these available off the shelf? Just curious.

Why would indepenedent tuners be affiliated to a particular manufacturer? While some companies do stick to a particular brand to showcase their talents (eg. Brabus to Mercedes) not all companies do the same. Ruf, for example, tunes Porsches, Lamborghinis etc. But one thing about affiliaition is that all german tuners are affiliated to an association called VDAT which regulates the terms and conditions (like power benchmark, torque etc.)

Hennessey Cadillac CTS-V

There are two kinds of people in the world. The first kind drives Cadillac's supercharged CTS-V, experiences the thrill of 556 horsepower paired with 551 pound-feet of torque and declares, "This thing is a monster. This is the fastest, most incredible American performance sedan ever made." Then you have the other type of person, the kind that takes the 4,300-pound CTS-V to 60 miles per hour in just over four seconds, runs the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 115 mph and says, "Meh." Should you fall into that second category, John Hennessey has got a car for you.

Official numbers are 707 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 717 pound-feet of torque at 3,200 rpm. Die hard CTS-V fans will have already noticed that Hennessey raised the redline. The stock CTS-V hits the limiter at 6,200 rpm; the V-700 keeps going to 6,600 rpm.

Hennessey claims that 0-60 is down to 3.7 seconds, which makes the Hennessey V700 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 quick. It can run the quarter-mile in 11.07 at 128 mph, which is half a second faster than the Nissan GT-R. But the number that makes us sit up and take notice is the V700's standing mile time. A Corvette ZR1 can achieve 181 miles per hour in the standing mile. The V700 hits 185 mph. That's neck snapping, head against headrest banging, laughter inducing flat out nuts performance.

A Cadillac CTS-V will ding your checkbook to the tune of about $62,000. Hennessey then charges $19,950 for the V700 package, $5,950 for the 20-inch, one-piece forged aluminum wheels that are three pounds lighter per corner than the stock hoops and $2,000 for the massive, but still-no-match-for-the-mighty-motor, tires.

Senner Tuning AG Audi S5

Germany-based Senner Tuning AG has given the S5 a bit more grunt from its 4.2-liter V8 mill, where a performance air filter and exhaust system have been added, managing to churn out a claimed additional 25 horsepower and 25 pound-feet of torque, bringing the overall output numbers to 379 and 350, respectively. On top of that, Senner has raised the S5's electronically limited top speed from the standard 155 miles-per-hour to an Autobahn-friendly 177 mph. What's more, the four-pipe exhaust now include sport silencers, and we assume the aural grunt from this S5 is quite a treat for the ears!

The cost of the White Beast tuning kit? $25,500 USD.

yep. The GT3-2 ditches Audi's quattro for rear-wheel drive! The 4.2-liter FSI engine produces 560 PS and 580 Nm of torque. It enables the GT3-2 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, before topping out at 317 km/h!

I think you can do it both ways. Either you provide them with the stock car, or they will do it on a stock one, and sell you the whole packed-up thing.

@ragingbull: The Hennensey Caddy looks almost stock, except for that garish hood. The second photograph of the S5 is awesome. And the MTM R8 is gonna be one awesome beast to drive, for sure. But will it still handle quite as well?

The onslaught of aftermarket Audi S5 Sportback tunings have started, and this first one from Senner Tuning AG is pretty darn hot!

Senner starts by upping the output from the S5's 3.0-liter supercharged V6 to 375 bhp and 500Nm. A new sport exhaust system was also created specifically for this S5, and it now uses quad-exhaust tips out back.

The car is painted in a special diamond black finish, and new 20-inch wheels have been added, wrapped in 245/30-series rubber up front and 295/25 low-profile treads out back. Senner has also fitted different springs and lowered the S5 by about 35 millimeters. The interior gets the standard carbon fiber trim upgrades, and the whole package is super stealth.

Within the space of six months, Edo competition has transformed a 5 year old DB9 into an Aston Martin DBS!

It involved replacing steel body panels with carbon fiber pieces and increasing the engine output from 470 to a staggering 550 horsepower. That’s why it will now do 320 km/h (199 mph) when the old car topped out at 295 km/h (183 mph). Its new 20 inch wheels and wider body contribute to a more muscular appearance, and numerous aerodynamic parts, such as a carbon fiber front skirt as well as a carbon fiber rear diffuser, underline the car’s sporting credentials.

The custom interior presented a unique challenge: The dashboard, center console, headliner, door panels and seats were refinished with utmost precision. The choice of materials and colors was left to the customer, who, in this case, opted for an Alcantara/leather interior with carbon fiber inserts and metal accents.

In order to be able to enjoy the new entertainment system, a new exhaust system featuring butterfly valves was fitted, allowing the driver to change the sound from ferocious to unobtrusive and quiet.
But that’s not the only function. This high-performance exhaust system which was specially developed for the DB9/DBS also helps the engine produce more power and torque. A programmable control unit monitors exhaust backpressure and opens 70 mm butterfly valves when the pressure exceeds a selected threshold.

The only thing I dislike about this Alpina is the rear spoiler. Everything else looks fabulous. Will be quite a sleeper!

re: Professionally Modified Supercars

Mr. Shamik Bose had posted pictures of a wonderfully modified Audi R8 V10 by RENM Performance on another thread. I had clicked on the link provided by him and I fell in love. Honestly, the R8 never appealed to me as much as a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. And there is no chance it would ever be as good as a Porsche in my eyes.

But this one. Phew! this one is an absolute stonker!

I personally love the wheels and the centrally-positioned exhaust, a la, Lamborghini Murcielago/Bugatti Veyron/Koenigsegg CCX..

"A Road Car With Motorsport Intentions"

If you're tired of waiting for the Audi R8 GT Spyder, you might want to give RENM a call because the company has just unveiled their new RMS.
Designed to be a road car with "motorsport intentions," the RMS is distinguished by a new front splitter, a modified grille, an aggressive rear diffuser and 19- / 20-inch alloy wheels. Interior changes are minimal but include lightweight sport seats and additional carbon fiber trim.
Power is provided by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that has been outfitted with a carbon fiber air intake, a high performance exhaust system and an optimized ECU. Thanks to these tweaks, output climbs from 525 PS (386 kW / 518 hp) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) to 600 PS (441 kW / 591 hp) and 585 Nm (431 lb-ft) of torque.
Last but not least, the vehicle has also been equipped with an adjustable sports suspension and carbon ceramic brakes.
