Nissan NV 200 recall

Quote:
TheNissan NV200, the van that's meant to act as the backbone of the New York City taxi fleet, is being recalled, Compared to some of the recalls we've seen this year, the 2,529 NV200s needing repairs is not a particularly huge deal – but try telling that to their inconvenienced owners and drivers.

The recall affects NVs built between February 6, 2013, and August 2, 2013. The vans in question use a wiring harness near the battery that may wear through its protective covering, causing a short

U.S. safety agency may expand Hyundai Elantra airbag recall.

Quote:
U.S. safety regulators are considering whether to expand a recall of the Hyundai Elantra because the airbags could cause an injury in a side impact accident.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said today it opened a recall query on Dec. 4 regarding the 2009-2012 Elantra Touring. Nearly 52,000 of those cars have a design similar to the one on 186,254 2011-2013 Elantra sedans recalled last March, the agency said.

NHTSA said a metal support bracket attached to the headliner on those vehicles could strike and injure occupants if a side curtain airbag deployed in a side-impact crash.

Re: The Global *Recalls* Thread

This has to be the smallest recall we've seen yet.

BMW recalling a grand total of "Three" X3s over instrument panel defect.

RECALL Subject : Inst. Panel may Interfere with Air Bag Deployment

Potential Number of Units Affected: 3

Manufacturer: BMW of North America, LLC

SUMMARY:
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2013 X3 xDrive 28i/35i vehicles manufactured February 11, 2013, through February 27, 2013. Due to a production process error, the tear seam on the instrument panel was not manufactured correctly.

CONSEQUENCE:
In the event of a crash, the air bag could improperly deploy, thereby reducing the effectiveness of the air bag's protection and increasing the risk of injury to the front passenger. In addition, parts or fragments from the air bag system could strike and injure the front passenger or other vehicle occupants.

REMEDY:
BMW has notified owners and dealers will replace the instrument panel, free of charge. Owners may contact BMW customer relations at 1-800-525-7417 or email BMW at CustomerRelations@bmwusa.com.
