Re: The Global *Recalls* Thread

Accura has announced a recall for the 2014 RLX due to improperly tightened rear suspension bolts that could come loose and increase the risk of a crash. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has yet to formally issue a recall notice for the RLX, but Acura says that a total of 7,387 RLX sedans are affected, which seems to include markets outside of the US as there have only been 4,456 of the sedans sold through November.

Chrysler recalls AWD 300,Charger, Ram 1500 over ZF transmission.

Quote:
The output shaft on the eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF to Chrysler for the AWD versions of the 300, Charger and Ram 1500 is apparently prone to fracture. That in the end could leave the vehicle without power and could, according to the NHTSA investigation, increase the chance of a crash. The vehicle could also roll away if even if left in Park without the handbrake applied.
That's why Chrysler is calling in 4,194 examples of those three models from the 2013 model year.

Re: The Global *Recalls* Thread

MSN-US has reported recall of 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, 2011-2012 Volvo S60 & 2013 Nissan NV200, for problems with transmission, oil pressure sensors & steering. The link to their report:

http://editorial.autos.msn.com/blogs...0-nissan-nv200

Details:

1. Ford is recalling 7,153 Lincoln MKZ sedans for faulty transmission sensors that can lock the vehicle in park. The sensor may read the gear selection incorrectly as neutral when it is really in park, & let the driver engage the drive position without stepping on the brake. However, the software will recognize the fault and shift the transmission back into park and apply the handbrake.

2. Volvo is recalling 30,929 2011-2012 S60 sedans to fix oil pressure sensors that may not alert the driver to low oil pressure. As per the company, the oil sensors that would normally flash an alert on the instrument panel were not activated, & therefore the drivers won't know their engines were low on oil.

3. Nissan is recalling seven 2013 NV200 vans to fix steering column parts that can detach, & result in a loss of steering. As per the company, the seven cargo vans were taken off the assembly line for inspection, & had their steering assemblies taken apart, but workers did not put them back together correctly.

Tesla Recalling Model S Wall Chargers.

As weird as it may sound, Tesla’s replacement program for its wall charger adapters has now become a recall. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Tesla will be replacing about 29,222 units of its NEMA 14-50 UMC adapters later this year in order to fix some issues that may cause the device to overheat.

Hyundai ix35, Holden’s Barina Spark recalled.

Quote:
Hyundai has issued a fix for seatbelt pretensioners in its strong-selling ix35 compact SUV, because a tensioning cable in up to 6552 vehicles may not be properly crimped.
If the cable breaks during pretensioner deployment, the cable will not able to restrain the occupant to its full capacity during an accident.

HOLDEN will pull more than 100 of its diminutive Barina Spark city hatchbacks into its workshops to fix a fault that could result in the car’s manual gearbox slumping
