Re: The 2014 F1 Season

With the nose height reduced to 185 mm, I'm wondering how the formula 1 car would look! Newey has already stated, making the car look good is a task!

Re: The 2014 F1 Season

What is amusing is that McLaren are dropping Sergio because he is so far of the pace from Button, meaning they expected him to match a WDC in his 1st year at a new team.

Just shows they dont rate Button very highly.

Thats another reason Ferrari have done well to choose Kimi for 2014 to partner Alonso.
It will inspire him to raise his game to another level (if there is one) and it will help keep his mind off Ferrari's pace if it is not quick enough to challenge for the title. Everybody just got too comfortable with Massa getting his ass kicked every weekend.

When one thought, the cars couldn't get uglier, the rules are pushing the teams towards this. And this is not just ugly, its plain vulgar.

You crash your car and the front wing goes up giving you the finger. Imagine Vettel getting a finger from his car

I hope Mercedes might come up with something pleasing to the eyes. They were the only ones to manage that last time.

That is one ugly looking model. No one likes to watch ugly cars running at high speeds.

I think it is about time the big names in F1 like Ferrari and Mercedes take a stand and say NO to this idiosyncrasy.

Viewership of F1 is already on a steady decline and this only adds fuel to the fire.

I didn't understand what you meant there till I took a closer look. Is it wrong and immature for me to laugh : P. How right you are.

If I've examined it correctly. The nose seems to dive down does it not? Oh this is very reminiscent of old F1 cars. I miss the look of older Formula one cars from the 90s with their diving front end. Those had pointy front ends though and this...well
Now all that's left is lowering and widening the wing like the <2009 rear wings but retaining clear air in the back somehow : ).

When it comes to F1 Maky seems to constantly have wishful thinking >.>

Re: The 2014 F1 Season

I dont get people ranting about aesthetics on a F1 car.

They were never a piece of art anyway. They are built for a purpose, i.e. to go fast and that they will.

Re: The 2014 F1 Season

The low nose height is said to be a safety measure!
Can someone throw light on it!
If one apply road car logic, high/ long bonnet = difficulty in locating farthest point of car
Can we conclude that no F1 car will be ramming into other in next season

A low nose prevent the cars from climbing over each other in a crash. It is dangerous as the cockpit is not covered and the climbing car can hit a driver in the head.

F1 drivers don't see much of the car anyways.

Re: The 2014 F1 Season

Amidst rumours that he is about to be replaced by Kevin Magnussen, Sergio Perez has hit out at McLaren, claiming that the team lacked the organisation and humility to contend with the reality that they weren't title contenders in 2014...

All is not well in camp Mclaren.

Re: The 2014 F1 Season

McLaren sacking Perez is shocking.

I would have thought access to the pockets of Carlos Slim Helu would have made Sergio a walking cheque book for McLaren.

Whatever it is, it's all strange. His performance wasn't so bad, and we saw all the logos of Sergio/Carlos Slim related companies on the McLarens (Claro e.g.)

I feel for the guy, he adds excitement to the track.
