re: My Black Beauty: 6-Speed Hyundai i20 Sportz CRDi. EDIT: Sold!

Got an update. The fuel lines were blocked due to presence of some debris. This was causing the issue. They have fixed it now. The fuel was filled at Madikeri last time (in front of CCD). No idea if fuel from this particular bunk was problematic.

The 1.2L km service also will be carried out and the car will be delivered tomorrow.

1.2 Lakh km service update

The car is back from repair and 1.2 lakh km service. It was done at Advaith Hyundai, Kuntikana, Mangalore. It's running fine now according to my cousin.

The cost breakup of repair and service:
1. Mag wheel weights - 101.30
2. Wurth screen wash - 174.70
3. Microfiber cloth - 218.30 (wondering why microfiber cloth is included !?)
4. Engine oil - 1538.20
5. Consumables - 200
6. Pad Kit - Front Disc Brake - 1804.90
7. O-Ring - 102
8. Filter cartridge - 1376.60
9. Service Kit - Oil Filter - 400.10
10. Drive Belt - 1221.10

Labor and Services:
1. Fuel Tank Cleaning - 445.00
2. Engine tuning - 590.00
3. Wheel Balancing - 400.00
4. Wheel Alignment - 500.00
5. Throttle Body Cleaning - 140.00
6. Periodic Maintenance Service - 1180.00
7. Brake Pads Replacement - 230.00
8. Caliper Pin Greasing - 180.00
9. Drive Belt - 71.00

Total: Rs 12,381/-

Since the car is not running much, the odometer reading stands somewhere around 1.2 lakh km. The car is running on stock clutch. My cousin was asked to wait for 2.5 hours after reaching the service center. He went there only after they called him stating that the car was ready.

Engine tuning would have been related to the repair work which they did. But I have no idea why they included microfiber towel. My cousin didn't observe any microfiber cloth in the car. Guess they took him for a ride. He didn't properly cross-check the bill while leaving the service center as it was raining heavily and had to drive another 100 km to reach his home.

re: My Black Beauty: 6-Speed Hyundai i20 Sportz CRDi. EDIT: Sold!

The car was sold yesterday. It had barely run after I moved to US as my cousin already owns two other cars. So decided to sell the car. My cousin had maintained the car in an immaculate condition. He found a customer near his place and all the sales formalities were completed yesterday. The odo reading was somewhere around 1,20,000 km. It was my first car and had a wonderful ownership experience with it. I'll never forget the drives which I went in this car. It never let me down on any kind of roads at any point of time. The sad part is that I was not able to be with the car at the time of parting ways with it. The last time I drove the car was from Bangalore to Sullia to drop off it at cousin's place in March. Never thought it would be my last drive in this car. I hope the new owner takes care of the car in a good condition.

Farewell, black beauty.

Parting shot:

That's sad vinay. Indeed, Pains to part with it since you had maintained it with so much care and affection. But I feel its the right decision you made since it was hardly running. Sitting cars age and detoriate faster than running cars.

Hope the new owner takes care of her well.
