re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

After the head unit upgrade, after all the tuning somehow felt the front components were not complementing with the headunit. Changed the ARC ones to the DLS 2 way components. The staging is a lot better and sounds a lot better with smoother treble and high frequencies. Wife who is averse to to high volume asked me to pump up the volume first time in 3+ years on Linea as she liked sound output from the set up.

Old components and new ones

I had ordered the OEM Fascia from 99rpm which did not arrive on time. Meanwhile was checking out which dealer had the stock, luckily True Sai Salem had it. Mr. Shakthivel was very helpful to get it couriered to me. Received the part in less than 18 hours (superb work there).

After the OEM Fascia is put in place. Now the headunit sits flush on the console.

The part number is 59064641 for the painted one. However, going forward only unpainted one will be available which has 59064640 as the part number

re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Got the 60K kms service done even though the odo was at 587xx kms. Changed all the fluids, brakes (both front and rear) thoroughly cleaned. Changed the indicators on the fenders as it was turning out dull. The bill came up to Rs. 11,422/- I have misplaced the bill, I will post the same once I find it.

Service was satisfactory, but I would not rate it 10/10. They have still a long way to go before they achieve that kind of rating.

Service was done at Vecto. Stood right next to the car when the work was done. I did not let the service advisor to fool around and add unnecessary stuff to the bill (he was unhappy about it ). A strict warning was issued during the preparation of the job card that any unnecessary stuff done, service advisor will be paying it.

Thanks.

You guys must be special; they never allow me inside the workshop.

Crazy Driver said Surendra has resigned :( Wonder where he went.

Krishna,

What about the timing chain replacement.

I too get to be along with the car during the service, here in Hyderabad. I guess (my assumption) in general FASC allows access to customers to the work area, as I do see customers moving frequently between the lounge and the work area.

Cheers,
pdma.

Nothing Special Sir. I make it very clear that service will happen only if I am around, else I take the vehicle out. Plain and Simple. I dont interfere in their work, but I must see what they are doing with my car.

Surendra left July 2015 and is now working with Pratham Motors, Queen's Road Branch.

I had got the timing chain replaced during the 45,000 kms service and hence not part of the 60,000 service. I will get the new type chain (not the one with 90K change interval, there is another one) around the 90K on the odo.

Milestone update: 59,000 kms

Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed-59000.jpg

With Odo crossing 59,000 kms I finally took the plunge and got the Linea Wolfed when the car was at 59,007 kms. Meet Rajiv on the 7th for the remap, spent a couple of hours discussing various things while the remap process was on. I will post a detailed update once I pile up a few more kms.

A small pic I took while the maps were being written on the ECU.

I think you have got switchable maps from Wolf. I too got my SX4 diesel wolfed last month. Rajiv has promised me switchable maps soon. He has done switchable maps for Linea and punto. It was the first time he worked on SX4.Waiting for your review and also I wish to know if car smokes a bit more post remap
Cheers

I did get the switchable maps for the Linea albiet with a little bit of modifications to suit my requirements. It will be fine tuned further.

On the smoke thing, at low rpms, if you floor there is a puff post which not much increase in the smoke. Confirmed from my bhpian friend Crazy_Driver too. To the contrary when it was stock, there was a bit of smoking under hard acceleration. I am planning to get all the turbo hoses inspected and replaced if necessary along with a thorough cleaning of the intake manifold, EGR Valve and the Intercooler.

I had got my EGR deleted in remap. Maruti recommends cleaning every 30k kms. My Car smokes a lot above 3500 rpm and Rajiv will fine tune it and provide switchable maps by next month.

Re: Petrol Hatch to Diesel Sedan - Fiat Linea - Now Wolfed

Hi Krishna, I own a Punto 1.3 mjd 75 hp version which has clocked around 110k kms. I am planning to get a remap done. Since the car has crossed a lac mark on the odometer, will I be compromising on reliability or any other factors? The car is in excellent condition though. Thanks
