Ciaz gets a new sibling :) A safari Storme Varicor 400 :D Delivery this Friday.

RC390 and kwid put to some rest, ciaz is going to be the daily runner for a few weeks now.

Odo: 51400 km

Update:
Odo: 52050 km

I had to do an emergency Trichy-Chennai round trip. Ciaz did 700km in 9 hours. Pretty comfortable , I mean acceptable for such a long distance, though in a safari I wouldn't feel a thing even after 1000 km travel.

Pretty aggressive driving since we were running short of time. The car managed to return 19.4 kmpl

Hello Prasanna bhai, wondering if I can buy from own consumables (like Engine Oil, filters etc) from outside and get my Ciaz serviced from MASS? Is this allowed? Will this have an impact on my warranty?

I don't think MASS would accept that. And if you have a FNG you can service it there, but my guess is it would void the warranty if you face any issue later, and when they find out the car hasn't been serviced at an authorised MASS/garage.

Munching miles like nobody's business!!

Update: 55,000 km

Why do I want to upgrade to a Jetta(once launched) :D

But being sensible, I have just used 30% of mileage of what I want to complete before selling this brown beauty. What a sensible car it is!

Update:

A fancy number on the odo, five 5s. :D Also a pic of my ciaz with CAAAR..

Congratulations sir ... many more to come ... :-)

The ciaz was giving out subtle thud noises at the front right side suspension when driven on bad roads. I took it to MASS and I was told the stabilizer bar mount has to be replaced. Both bar mounts were replaced.

It was covered under warranty, and I paid just 450 rs for labour. :)

Now the car is back to the "brand new" shape again!

The last 500 km has been very lethargic as I have been using my Storme.

Went to my in-law's place at Pattukottai. It was a nice drive on roads that were accompanied by brilliant landscape.

I have Ciaz VXi+ of 2016. While delivering the car, Dealer had fixed door handle chrome, over the door handles, since Vxi+ had body colored handles only. It was done as part of free accessories and it looks nice too.

After an year, I had a peculiar issue. These chrome handles looked like 'rusted' giving a shabby feel. I complained to M/s. Vishnu Motors Chennai (Maruti Authorized Service Dealer), who delivered the car to me.

They did some polishing and it was fine, as good as the original. But, it's repeating, after 3 months. It really irks. Wonder, how come a part supplied by MGA, behaves so !

Is this issue, a common one for others too ? or should I escalate to Maruti ? Suggestions please please:

I had asked same question to my service adviser - can I only bring engine oil on my own and do rest of the service from MASS ? He told me, it's okay to bring engine oil on your own.

But I am not so sure about other consumables eg. oil filters.
Anyhow, we need to use Maruti's prescribed oil filter and cost of that filter is same in showroom and maruti accessory shop.
