To each his own RT. I don't like the bumps transmitting that the hard suspension & big wheels of the RS make it do & she tends to not settle down on bumpy roads due to that. OHC doesn't have a great ride either but she's got some compliancy but yes she does float on bumps. I prefer that to the stiffness again due to my back problem.

Hey there Normally Crazy, Congrats a ton on your new buy .. We're partners in crime now .. Ishan kept me posted on the deal, so congrats again on getting a fantastic deal. I get my car washed every second day... no problems with the sunroof yet..
One thing for you.. It never fails to thrill you regardless of what speed ur on.. Recently i took mine to Vrindavan and it was rock stable at 200+, though that speed was there for barely 40 seconds ..

Have a good ride and keep safe ,,
Cheers, dMH

you have a back problem too Ishan! And thanks for pointing out the oversight, though the vRS really does taunt the driver into doing things they normally wouldn't in another car!!

Congrats NC, welcome to the RS club. I have had mine for almost two years now and feel that for sheer driving pleasure there is nothing to beat the RS, in its price bracket.

UPDATE

1) Have faced the problem that I heard is common is the vRS. A loose battery terminal connection , took it to the road side mechanic who tightened it and its all settled now.

2) Also one fine day, the "check engine" light comes up and stays on. I pull up to the side of the road and shut the car. Restart after 7-8 minutes, the problem is still there. So i shut it down again and call the emergency number of the Skoda dealer who wants me to get it to the workshop asap (as if I didn't know). That wasn't possible and I asked him if I can drive with the engine light on as the car felt fine , no change in power / driving characteristics. He asked me to drive on but do not let the revs fall below 1000 RPM. I told him that in neutral at standstill and while changing gears the revs will fall below 1000 RPM. He says no sir only while driving if the revs fall below 1000 RPM there could be a problem.

So I drive for a day and a half with the check engine light on - take the car to the workshop and got it hooked up to the laptop and flashed the engine check light. Apparently the light was on because of dust...I had been driving in extremely dusty conditions for over a week. Everything is fine after that.

3) Also I faced the problem of a rattling sound from the left rear door. This happened in the diesel Octavia too. Seems like an inbuilt problem on the Octavia's. Its sorted out now.

Well other than that the car is a dream to drive. Floor the pedal and it responds like beast. Handling is predictable and aids spirited driving. FE hasn't been a bother hovering around 9.5 to 9.7 mark.

Cheers
