oh.. But i fitted it the same size as in the bumper area.

it can be bigger than the space provided. you might be asking for trouble having a plate as small as that.

Trouble ? My car was in the police station for 2 days after i had the accident . Even the RTO officer saw the number plates while giving the certificate . Nobody questioned me about the number plates .

cops fine us here in delhi for small number plate. i got 2 tickets for "defective number plate" that was twice the size of your current plate. :Frustrati

Not necessarily. But there is a standard size for the letters and numbers in number plates.

You may be or may not fined when you go to Chennai, but you can be, anywhere.

There is no standard size for the plate as such. If you have seen the 'security' number plates which ara fad these days, the sizes of the letters and the numbers need to be of that size.

I don't remember the exact sizes off hand!

They can't standardize the numberplate size. However, I believe the RTO expects the fonts to be of a particular / readable size.

Acceptable. May be ,the Paper with Numbers was bigger than the number plates. lol: when the RTO inspected my car.

I have asked a car parts shop in Coimbatore for the EBC Green Brakes. He said he will get it if it is available for Getz .

Please go through the following:

Delhi Traffic Police, New Delhi (India) - Number Plate of Vehicles Delhi
Registration Number Plates

As far as I remember, the second link describes the number plate better. That was what was said when way back in 1989, this style of numbers was introduced.

The state is represented by the two alphabets, the RTO Office represented by '2' numbers followed by the number. It started off with 0001 to 9999 and then the alphabets come into play. So aprticular RTO office is alwys represented by the initial 4 characters. The remaining is the unique registration number of the vehicle.

The Delhi police site differs from this stand. Strange!

Hey undead,
What is the size of your tires and the rim width. I booked a getz crdi and am looking out for a good wheel configuration for the vehicle. Please tell me where you bought your rims and tires. The rims look great and match the cars silver color very well.

Cheers.:D

Hey Shyam. Thanks.
The alloy wheel model is Yongle YL 816 14" 6J
Tire : BF Goodrich G-Sport 195/60 R14

And how did the whole thing cost you. Also do tell me if u found any differences in the ride. Do you think it is a good idea to go in for the alloys and the tires immediately after the buy?

Cheers :D

Alloys costed Rs.3000 per wheel.
Tires : Rs.3500 per tire

I used the stock tires for some 9000 kms and found it bad. I recommend you change to atleast 195/60R14 or 205/50R15.
BFGoodrich are hard tires and meant for good grip on straight line speed and cornering . They are noisy and comfort are on the lower side.
Other Tires:
Michelin XM1+ - For Comfort & Silent.
Michelin Pilot Preceda 1 - For performance.
Yokohama S Drives (205/50R15) - Performance

If you are a driver looking for performance in high speeds like 150 kmph - I recommend 205/50 R15 & Yokohama S Drives. More Grip , average ride quality .

If you stay around 100 kmph speed and looking for fuel efficiency - go for 195/60 R14 Michelin XM1+. Good grip and good ride quality.
