Certainly the "No more bachelors club". In the Getz Club.. you are my senior.

I was thinking of extending the thigh support of the front seats by actually stretching it to make it similar to seats provided by Suzuki/Ford with a fair bit of underthigh support.

Congrats for losing the bachelor's, and gaining the Master's :D

I am thinking why not put in some added cushioning when doing up a seat cover - isn't that possible?

And dont take the car to any service center at all without a seat cover - you WILL have dirty seats when you get the car back!

i thought about the same , but i am worried about whether our knee might hit the dash while driving and it may cause some disturbance. But , in that case , we can try to put an additional bush on the rear 2 bolt's of the seat to increase the seat height a bit and it will make some difference too .

lol: oh man, Bachelor's is better than Master's in this regard.

It is possbile , u can make a cushion foam with the elastic strap ( just like in neck rest ) and fix it to the seats so that you can remove it when not needed. But , its better to paste the additional cushion foam with the original foam itself , so that it will stay intact .

I can understand that the seats may get dirty in the service centre. I will put a new seat cover after an year or two.

I added 1" foam to the seat (bum area) and 1.5" foam to under thigh area of the drivers seat in my Getz as the under thigh support was miserable for me (I am 6' 2") tall. It has made a huge difference in terms of comfort. Earlier, it was very difficult during long drives.

I drive with the seat slidden to the farthest position. So, no problem of my knee touching the dash board.

The lumbar support is pretty fine for me.

Just some fancy lights on the door handle just like the underbody LED lights, i will post the pictures tonight . It will look good only when taken at night.

thats a nice mod. Awaiting pics of that. You seem to be on a mod spree.

Here are the lights i was talking about . I connected the wires to the power window switch and so when i switch on the Parking lights, the lights will be ON.
Taken from my Nokia N95 , these lights look better in real world than in pictures.

Super. Feeling envious. I'm yet to start splurging on the car.

Sorry bro i saw your post today :Frustrati. I think you remeber that my car was running on 195/60-14 PP1. I changed to Maxxis victra 205/50-15 after using michelins for 2K KM. Roads in bangalore have gone worse and i am not feeling good about ride quality.

Did you change you car tyre or no? If no then,
i would suggest you buy 195/55-15 Yoko S-drive if you are looking for good grip or Yoko A-Drive if you are looking for a decent grip-ride quality combination.
If you want a long life then i suggest you buy Maxxis Victra MA-Z1. Maxxis call these as sports tyres and these tyres will definitely last for 45K KM :D

I am running exactly this - and am not happy at all with the in-city comfort! Every little stone /loose surface feels like its hitting my bottom straight.

But highway / smooth roads are a breeze (if you don't mind the road noise), the tires are pretty grippy. They are prone to aquaplane though.

As much as I enjoyed the speeds I was able to touch on this one, I am changing to something more comfortable next time - Nikhil was suggesting the Conti CPC2. I am also toying with getting my rims back to 14" when I get to change the tires - which would be another year or so, I think, based on the running I have done and how the tires look.

I suggested vaibhav 195/55-15 S Drives because he is happy with 205/50-15 PP2's ride quality. I am sure 55 profile's increased sidewall will give better ride than what 50 profile PP2 gives.

Can we get 14" steel wheels for getz from some tyre shop for a lower price? I did a mistake of selling it to tyre shop as i thought i would never use it. Now hyundai guys are quoting close to 2K per tyre :D

Of course you can - at least that's what Deepak (Tyre Store) assured me in case I need to go back to stock for any issues / warranty claims. Will check how much he would give a set for...

Done 43000 kms so far .

Few Days back , while travelling on the expressway , a goat happened to cross the road , i tried to avoid hitting it , but ended up hitting its face on the left side mirror and the glass got broken . The goat was fine though , it didnt feel anything and continued to walk away.
Cost of the mirror = Rs. 416 / I felt it a bit costly as few days back i went to change my friend's Figo's RHS mirror and it costed around Rs. 220 only .
