2 updates:
family has finally agreed to let me have my way :D the GD it is!!!
Spoke to the GM of the Ahmedabad dealership and he has confirmed that he shall be able to deliver the car within the next 10 days. Will be going tomm to make the initial payment and discuss the final pricing.
Now the WAIT starts :)

I was told that the Getz D will continue to be made on order, once the current stocks are finished. why should we let you guys have all the fun?
Unlikely, IMHO. They have already taken it down from their website- and they have released statements of discontinuing Getz itself in papers...

this is waht an insider at hyundai was telling me , incidentaly i met him at an A.S.S when he came in to replace his ECU which was out of warranty,
Until someone actually booked and got a newer lot of Getz D, i would say "you guys missed it...!" :D

I was also able to book one of the rocket in Bangalore on August 11th 2009 and took delivery on 2nd September 2009. It was mentioned on the label that the year of manufacture was 0809..... which I was told that it the month of August 2009. I have every reason to beleive it. I was not able to post any photos as I am still to come out of the senses that I have actually managed to grab one and still enjoying driving every mile of the drive. In fact my destinations have become longer owing to fact that I take long round about routes lol:
O wow!! Congrats!!! Post the VIN code from the label on the rear quarter glass, we will be able to find the exact month from it :)
i dont think there would ever be a new version , but the same version would continue at reduced prod levels , or else it will eat into the i20 market

Kaushal- Congrats on the Getz and am surprised that you got a newer one. Please give us the VIN so that we'll get confirmation that the Getz is still made on orderlol:. That will be the best news I've heard in a while.

I asked the sales rep for the VIN No and this is what he's given : MALBT51VR9M112611
Can you tell me what make the car is...??

The door panel should be having two more digits after this (as per someone in the VIN thread I PM'ed you) which should give the month of manufacture...

That's not happening saar. The car is in transit. So can presume that am getting a fresh types piece :D
Finance worked out. Delivery date - either 19th or 21st.
Getting the following accesories in terms of priority :
* Tyres : Michelin or Yokos - Pls advise on size.
* Headlights : Osrams (60/55 W) OR Phillips Rally 100/90 ( was reading that you have to remove the covers etc) which is not advisable.
* Horns : Roots - the medium ones ( i think cost Rs.900 or so)
* Stereo : Range of 12K - Am looking at getting a DVD player too.
* Speakers : Front and Rear : Range 8K
* Film : Suggestions on this please. Approximate pricing?? I have no idea.
Optionals :
* Seat Covers - Optional as of now unless i find something reaaally interesting. Range 5K
* A small amplifier - Not too sure how much of a impact this would have on the overall sound.
* TFT Screen - Long term view is that i might get a driver. Then this could be done. Suggestions on this most welcome.
Not a fan of alloys. So will be sticking with the stock rims.
Any other suggestions guys...??
