Sincerely, the craze for the spinners has long vanished. On some vehicles, it looks funny. Not meaning to dampen your spirits, but IMO please stay away from spinners. Get good quality tires ( fairly broad, if you can get those), and put them on.

Congrats. Cool truck. Isn't 3000 too much for the number plates? Don't put the Canopy. IMO it looks better this way. Also personally I like it without the chrome bumper.

Its highway robbery if you ask me.

Got the same set (well it looks the same) hologram and all that for 1000 for a set of 2. That was 13 months back in Cochin.

Prices should ideally be less.

I agree with you regarding canopy and the chrome bumper.

3000 is too much. Time to 'see' the dealer.

Number plate only 1000/-
Selection number 2000/-

The car handles great. Detailed report coming up soon. But will post some pictures worth seeing. I am bit amused by way TATA finished this car.

Canceled my order for spinners. Next step will be bigger back wheels and new suspension at the back.

Have given the car for first service. Mentioned the following problems to the dealer

1 Brake lights dose not work
2 Broken ashtray lid
3 Have noticed a slight discoloration on the tail gate
4 Roof grab handle fixed upside down
5 Stopwatch iso analogue clock

1000kms service and the canopy will come on.

They promised me that I will get the car back on Friday evening. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I will be posting my initial ownership report later today.

Congrats on your new possesion, by the way I would suggest you also go for the bed liner as it saves the bed and keeps it clean too, and it gives you the look need to, being waterproof.
Like the one on my xenon, it has spent me a lot of headache cleaning the truck and as well goes with the look of the truck.

Will take your advise but I wasn't sure if the canopy and bed liner goes together. How long since you had it. Just got the sms from TATA that its serviced and ready.

St Antony's

After several calls to my local dealer St.Antony’s Motors (Pathanamthitta), I was given assurance that the canopy I ordered on 18th of June 09 has finally arrived and it’s ready. Since I am yet to do the 1000kms service I thought I will do both together.

So this Tuesday 4th Aug 09 handed over the car to the manager himself. I also explained the work needed to be done to him thoroughly plus I have given all in writing. Following are the work once again

1 Brake lights dose not work
2 Broken ashtray lid
3 Have noticed a slight discoloration on the tail gate
4 Roof grab handle fixed upside down
5 Stopwatch iso analogue clock
I was told that the canopy was in Kottayam (65kms away) I told him go ahead I will pick up the car once the work is done.

Yesterday 6th Aug 09 I received a call from St.Antony’s Kottayam branch saying that the car is ready for Pick up. I specifically asked them if the canopy is on. And the answer I received is “YES SIR THE CANOPY IS ON”.

So after dropping my kids at school I took a taxi and went to Kottayam. And when I saw the car it did not surprise me a bit. It’s still missing its canopy.

Also the paint job at the tailgate, they forgot.

So after talking to countless number of people I came to know that they had placed the order for canopy only on the 21st of July. And it will take one more week to be delivered. About the paint job they said they fill do it once I bring my car back for fixing the canopy.

I am half mindset to return the car at this stage. I am also planning to file a lawsuit against St.Antony’s Motors. Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

And please spread the word At St.Antony’s Motors they are only interested in selling the car, once they have received your hard earned cash they treat you like dirt (you know what the appropriate word to use here is)
