It looks pretty cool never the less!
I knew this question was coming... When I got the spoiler, there were gaps/undulating on both sides of the spoiler to place the mugen emblems. However, that time, I couldn't source those and instead I filled the gaps/undulations to give a uniform look and painted it over during installation of the skirts.

We should meet someday for a photoshoot of both the cars

Re: 133 PS of pure pleasure - new Honda Civic S (Tafeta White)

Update: After exactly 3 years and 7 months, my Civi went for a major paint job for the front and rear bumper, side panels and all the body kits (front/back/side skirts). The skirts particularly needed painting desperately as they had taken quite some abuses, scratches of all kinds. And to mention, the side skirts were loose and making all kind of noise. There were also some deep scratch/cut on two of the doors (LHS), and got them painted too (full doors). So, in a nutshell, half the car was painted . And this only took 2 days. And the finish is extremely good (from what I had seen so far after taking delivery today evening). Am Happy! Total cost came out to be 14K bucks (this include the repairing work done on the broken/dented bumpers, skirts). And got a free dry cleaning of the interior, full rubbing/polish with authentic 3M materials. (The workshop that did this repair/paint job is Bright Motors, Okhla Phase III. There is a listing in the NCR section too http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/delhi-...ack-lanes.html )

A few shots I got sometime ago:

Also, got curtains for all glasses (just like the ones that come with Beemers and Audis). really nice.

Re: 133 PS of pure pleasure - new Honda Civic S (Tafeta White)

Indeed the best civic ever seen by me!
BTW what about the performance mods? When are they starting? Since you mentioned that you wanted to increase the low end grunt, you could go the same way GTO went. You can get Automech performance exhaust + k&n typhoon kit! It won't cost you a fortune but the difference is great as already told by GTO.
Read his impressions here:
1) http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...e-exhaust.html
2) http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...ir-intake.html
Hope it helps

Re: 133 PS of pure pleasure - new Honda Civic S (Tafeta White)

4 years completed with 38K on the odometer. The warranty period is over too. Luckily nothing broke that requires any warranty claim. As it is not driving often, from now onwards, it will be serviced once a year.

Some updates:
1. The battery I think is dying slowly. I can feel it when starting the ignition. Time to change, I guess. Amaron?

2. A flying stone at high speed from another car's tyre hit the windscreen and now, there is a big chip (not crack). Not sure if I should replace it (insurance claim) or ignore it.

3. Got rid off the stock 1-din head unit and upgraded the speakers too.
- HU- Pioneer 8590 (~28K)
- Amplifier - Focal 4 way Solid 4 (~14K)
- Front speakers - Pioneer TS-D1720C (~9K)
- Rear Speakers - RockFord Punch 6" p16 (~6K)
- Rear View Camera
The sound clarity is awesome. Integrates nicely with my BB including bluetooth stream audio. however, the menu settings and navigation on this pioneer unit is making me crazy. I guess its about getting used to. But I have to say, I don't know why I continue to endure the stock unit/speakers for 4 years!

In the days ahead, I plan to get the Pioneer steering remote control, a mono-amp and a woofer.

with previous instances reported, if you are going to replace, its gonna cost you in 10k plus. Chip is ok I would say, if there is no change in noise levels noticeable.

Never a fan of the huge grill chrome. So, last weekend, had it blacken. I am liking the tone down looks now

Re: 133 PS of pure pleasure - new Honda Civic S (Tafeta White)

So, recently I bought an iPhone 5S and integrates very well with the pioneer headunit, especially with AppRadio interface where I can control the supported apps from within the touchscreen of the headunit.

The 2-din Pioneer touch screen unit with the front fascia panel.

iTNerd, have been silently following your post for quiet sometime, being a Civic owner myself(2012, 1.8S) your mods are too inspiring and aspiring.

Every detail of mod you have pimped on your civic are well mated and flow through well, complements the best design of Civic, the design of Civic and it's driver oriented styling till date hands downs makes many new cars too dated.

I was trying to find the pedals, which looks to have been removed from the ebay listing.

All the best and keep rocking!

Super intsallation of the strut bar , certain makes the civic more stable for cornering and high speed controls.

Could you through some light on the costs, where did you buy and the ease of fitment?

It would be great if you could share your list of installations/cost/complexity from a simple Civic S logos to various others till date?

Look forward to your post.

I got it from the dealer where I got the HU. He didn't even have it, he had to ordered it from some other source. But I am pretty sure, it is available in any apple reseller shop.

Yes, it feels a lot better and nimbler when cornering as well as on rough surface. In fact, it drives just like its got a new suspension. I am looking for rear strut bar too in the near future. Fitments were pretty easy, plug and play thingy. All falls within the stock configuration. But yes, taking out of the plastic enclosures on the windshield to access the struts were time taking.

I will briefly lists the things I gotten on my civic in 4.5 years of ownership:

1. Original Mugen 09 body kit - 18K (with paint)
2. Original Mugen raised spoiler with carbon fibre inserts - 15K
3. Original 3D mats - 6K
4. Original Honda Sill guard - 3K
5. Original Honda Red emblems (front + rear + steering) - 6K
6. Projector Headlamps with LED strip day light running - 12K
7. LED rear lamp (smoked) - 8K
8. 3 sets of HID (Projector + high beam + fog lights) - 15K
9. 17" Audi replica alloys (prestige make) - 24K
10. 225/45/ R17 Michelin PS3 - 48K
11. Pioneer Head Unit 8950 - 28K
12. Rear Camera - 2K
13. Dash Double-din kit - 5K
14. iPhone 5S cable for appradio integration - 4K
15. Speakers + Subwoofer + Amplifier - 35K
16. Heavy damping (3 layers, all four doors + rear parcel + rear boot) - 10K
17. Interior LED lights (reading lamp + sides + central) - 1K
18. Front Strutbar - 5K
19. Front hoot damper - 5.5K
20. Amaron battery - 4K

Re: 133 PS of pure pleasure - new Honda Civic S (Tafeta White)

Great work there ! One question I have is if the strutbar and front hood dampers are plug and play then are they part of standard equipment on the Civic sold elsewhere ? Was there a need for you to make any modifications at all to the car to accommodate these ? Thanks.

Not really. Both are after market parts for Civic FD. Hoot dampers used to be only available on high end cars, from I had seen. But as they are relatively cheap, I am puzzled why they don't come as standard. It is pretty handy and practical.

No modifications required at all. For the strut bar, just open up the plastics surrounding the windshield and unsrew the 3 nuts of each strut tower and fit the strut bar and tighten the nuts. As simple as that. For hoot damper, just need to unscrew one of the nut holding the hoot and one plastic pin holding the plastic cladding on the side and fit the damper. No cutting/hammering requiring at all!

Please enlighten me on what Civic FD stands for. Also, if you can share the part numbers for both the strut and the damper that would be great.

EDIT: Please share the details of where you sourced these parts from. Thanks.
