Really liked the stuff you have altered in your car. I also came across another tbhpian's figo who has added features like DTE, Live mileage etc using something similar. I feel the dealers should offer these to the customers at an extra cost so people who are not on teambhp can get such features in their cars

This is a nice little gadget you have there. I wanted to know how it exactly works?

What happens when you are listening to a CD or FM and get an incoming call? Do you first need to switch to AUX and then communicate or it happens automatically? I tried to look for this info but couldn't get much on it so thought of clarifying with you directly.

Thanks in advance.
Thanks! In case of incoming call when i'm listening to music (in modes other than AUX), i press a button on steering remote and press the AUX button on the HU to talk handsfree. If i'm listening to music via bluetooth in AUX mode, i just have to press the answer button on remote, thats it.

I just had an idea. Why not find out the size of the bulbs which are used for drls. And then order white bulbs for the same size. They will look much better than yellow.

Also with the cornering fogs, are the DRL bulbs used? Or the main fog bulbs?

I have decided on using LEDs for DRLs. Had even decided on which bulbs to order. It's been a few weeks now, just need to squeeze some time out of work :(
Cornering fogs uses fog lights. DRLs do not throw any light on the road, they are just bright enough for other road users to spot you The fog lamps are much brighter in comparison and also light up the road.

@Akki_5: Have you tried any of those VAG-COM tricks, or know if they work, on the Fabia? Atleast, the auto-left-mirror down on reverse, and auto unlock? I own a (old) Ambiente.

Not tried yet. But i have a read a bit about the Fabia. I am certain that auto-tilt of mirror is not possible. However, auto lock and auto unlock are possible.

Re: New Laura Elegance 1.9 TDI A/T EDIT : Customising with a VAG-COM

Hi Akki, great stuff you've got going on here with the VAG-COM kit. I have a 2007 Laura L&K. Can the DRL as well as corner sweep features be enabled on this model? Also would like to know if the fog lamp bulbs can be changed to White to match the Xenons. It's a dull yellow that looks out of place as does the high beams too :(

Thanks! You cannot enable DRLs by separate lights but i think you can use your dipped beams as DRLs (not advisable for Indian conditions ) Needle sweep is not possible on older instrument clusters i am afraid.
Ofcourse you can change your fog lamps and full beam bulbs to white, you can find more info in the Auto Lighting thread.

Damn, I missed this thread ! Interesting stuff going on. Since most of the stuff you got done is already active on the Superb do you know of additional stuff I could get done?

Your bluetooth still uses the phones mic, I presume? Can you take some pics of it? The charging wire must look ugly traveling from the armrest to the lighter socket.

I wish Skoda offered a Bluetooth system to add into the touchscreen HU!

The needle sweep is very cool. I'd love to enable that on my Yeti and Polo. Wanna point me in a direction?

I dont think you have DRLs activated on Superb by default. So that can be done. I haven't really read anything on Superbs yet, so don't know more.
I'll try and put up pictures for the BT kit tomorrow. The kit looks like a part of the car and especially the steering remote blends in pretty well. The module's wire is barely visible. Also, the mic is on the module that fits in the 12V socket, works well.

You can also buy a kit and install it yourself, do some coding and it works fine. Although the kit comes for a premium @ 30k.

Though i haven't tried yet, i am pretty certain a lot can be done on the Vento too.

You can always buy a cable and do it yourself or give me a call when you're in Bombay.

I wrote to Skoda this morning regarding retro fitting if bluetooth. They said it's not viable to get done unless the car comes with it from the production line

Basically they don't offer it as an after market option.

Does VW offer as an option? The same module would work on the superb as the jetta comes with the same system

@Akki, can you provide me with a link of the option that the Superb can have activated?
I'm not a big fan of the DRLs, I don't even use the option on the BMW inspire of the crono rings looking killer. Time and again you'll have people of the road giving you hand signals that your lights are on

Skoda won't do bluetooth retrofit for you! You have do get it done outside or DIY. All the info is available on briskoda.net
You can even buy the kit off ebay or have someone in UK send it to you.
You can look up on brisky (briskoda.net) for features that can be activated on Superb.
And yeah, i am used to people giving signals that your lights are ON!
