Hey Akki! It's kind of nostalgic to see the "cheat codes" for cars just like times when we had the first generation games!

Have you tried anything or are aware of possibilities on a VW Polo 1.6? Things like:
  1. Mileage & other details (gear indicator, tracks etc.) on the MFD
  2. Auto lock & Unlock

I haven't tried anything on a Polo yet, though i'd love to! I am pretty certain that auto lock/unlock can be done but i'll have to connect my computer to a Polo to see what else can be done.

Man,
You and anandbhat have really done a lot of good to the Laura.
Any idea if any of these things is possible on the Yeti?

Re: New Laura Elegance 1.9 TDI A/T EDIT : Customising with a VAG-COM

Hey Akki,

Thats awesome stuff done on the car there.
I have a Laura Ambiente (FL) and after reading your updates here on the Elegence, it inspired me to get the same done my car.
I did check with Europa Auto here in Pune. According to them, these (if not all) can be activated on the Ambiente too, WITHOUT voiding warranty.

As per their information, most of the features are already there in the system, just de-activated and hence activating features that are already there wont void warranty. Also they said, they would do it to my car for a mere Rs.300 :P

Re: New Laura Elegance 1.9 TDI A/T EDIT : Customising with a VAG-COM

UPDATE:
Got Auto Headlights! Now, coming home and leaving home lights work like a charm! Plus, during daytime, the DRLs remain active and as soon as it gets dark, the DRLs turn OFF and low beams turn ON, automatically!

Next up:
White lights for low beams.

Re: New Laura Elegance 1.9 TDI A/T EDIT : Customising with a VAG-COM

Akki - Post some details man. What all did you have to change? This is very interesting. If im right just like another member did to his Yeti, you just had to order the switch and do the programming?

These Skodas sure are easy to spec up.

Re: New Laura Elegance 1.9 TDI A/T EDIT : Customising with a VAG-COM

In case of Laura if I am right, you need a service wire to be connected from switch to BCM, once that wire is connected the Auto switch is enabled[this also means that you already have the rain and light sensor in your vehicle]. once done activate that from the long coding in VCDS or VAS software at dealer.
The good new for Yeti Elegance is the wiring is in place, just change the switch, Laura L&K switch doesn't work for Yeti, the out dimensions are different, but if you want you can replace the cover and keep the original, the functionality still works but the dial is alway pointing wrong!

Re: New Laura Elegance 1.9 TDI A/T EDIT : Customising with a VAG-COM

Yeah, had to put a service wire from the switch to the BCM, install an auto-switch and finally, do some coding. However, the downside is, my cabin / interior lights have conked off. Will try and fix the issue this weekend.
Planning to put orange LEDs for DRLs and parking lights (like Bimmer 5 E60) and white 4300K bulbs for low beam projectors. Let's see.

Re: New Laura Elegance 1.9 TDI A/T EDIT : Customising with a VAG-COM

Got the interiors lights issue fixed. Just removing and reinstalling the BCM did the trick. Must have been a loose connection the last time for the lights to conk off like that.
