As i said i m still monitoring. Till 5k if there is no substantial reduction nothing to worry right ?

Shall i change oil in 5k only? as after 3000km the engine has already lost its smoothness a bit.

Note: One more observation i had when i visited ramkay Fiat Service station, we opened & checked stick levels of 5 different punto's n Linea's (All Diesel ones) and saw that all the five of them never had oil in max level. they were either 3/4 or above 3/4. None till the Max level.
Reduction does happen in most FIAT's. Both my Linea's do have that behaviour. As per the manual 100ml per 1000kms is 'normal'.

One new observation for me was that with new oil, for the first 3000 - 4000 kms there is no reduction. Post that i have substantial reduction.

That's Bangalore notorious traffic for you. Every reading on your MID is out of what you will experience , except for the outside temperature. 28 degree C in the peak of summer. That's lovely Bangalore.
Agree! I've crossed the 111k mark now. Been busy with work and hence have not updated the happenings. Will try to update in due course of this week.

Re: Code6'd Fiat Linea MJD: 100,000 kms & counting!

Hi All,

@ 110778 I have now switched back to stock oil of fiat and now I have driven 350 kms till now, no reduction in oil level. Keeping my fingers crossed to see how much it will consume when I hit 1000 km after oil change.
Now my odo reading is 111128. Lets wait for the 1000 mark to see if there is any good news about oil consumption.

Re: Code6'd Fiat Linea MJD: 100,000 kms & counting!

I was unable to resolve oil consumption by changing it to mineral one.
All workshop is eager to change half engine. But I have now done 30K once the issue started. I don't have any loss of power till now. so why do i change the engine. I am still trying to find the root cause. Oil consumption starts only after 3000 RPM. Now in my list to check is EGR valve, turbo, oil pump.
