This is good news

btw do you advise if its good idea to go for 'xenon hid conversion kit'? if yes which brand?

I am also told that now a days you get a H4 option... one with both LOW & HIGH beams... Anyone seen/heard about this?

I am using a P4 HID kit in my car and there are no issues with it..
P4 is the one available from WINTRENDZ...

KB100.. I have seen and driven a car intalled with one.. Its nice.. the phenomenon on which this works is that the Bulb assembly moves forward (Low beam) and backward/upward (High beam) in the Sealed Beam of the car..

Cheersss

The xenon bulbs burn much cooler than Halogens and the heat generated is much, much less. You don't have to worry about meltdown. Most of the kits that I have seen are single filament lamps.

To answer some of the questions in a more educated way;

1). Xenon lamps will not melt the headlight housings as they run much cooler than halogen bi\ulbs.

2). Xenon kits available in the aftermarket are all crap as Xenon headlights are designed to be used with optics such as specifically designed projector lenses which you can see in the BMWs, Audi's, Skoda, etc.

3). Aftermarket xenon kits will just be bright with a lot of light scatter in the beam pattern causing it to be erratic and irritating to oncoming traffic. The end result; not much light on the road for the driver with the xenon kit and antagonizing oncoming heavy vehicles who are gonna swerve towards you :-)

4). For the best possible VFM upgrade if u have a halogen set-up is to get yourself some decent Sylvania SilverStar (the whitest and brightest stock replacement) headlamp bulbs. These are not those heavy blue coated bulbs but are just so mildly coated that they produce a white light and not the bluish white light.

Hope this information helps all.

Best,

Mine is "p4 HID Xenon" (6000K-cool daylight) fitted by a Thai engineer at the Autocar exhibition at Nehru Centre (Dec 2005) for 14.5K. The lighting is amazing and sharply focused on the road. Probably because of Baleno's clear lens and superior reflector optics, the beam pattern has a sharp cut off resulting in zero glare even if you stand right in front, which never fails to amaze anyone. A couple of appreciative drivers have actually stopped by to compliment the wonderful beam pattern!

The power drain is only 35W and fitting is purely plug-n-play, hence 100% reversible in barely a few minutes.

Dude low bass maker the xenons look tight!! question on the swift do u have the hi beam or the low beam?

Cheers

Abix

the corolla doesnt have xenons does it?
the xenons on the swift are more focussed i guess.
a lot of scattering of light from the corolla

Both the cars have xenon in the swift there is 6000k and in corolla it is 8000k. For dipper there is a second bulb along with the xenon which helps alot................

Skoda Octavia with three Xenon HID Kits.

1 x H4 Hi Beam + Low Beam
1 x H3 Upper Fog Light
1 x H1 Lower Fog Light

PS: Have done other Accords, Corollas and Mercs with three kit setups.
One word... BLINDING!!

Arush
