Most of you were close, but wrong. Its these vandals, the monkeys that are the main reason. They conk off the OSRVMS from their casings. It happened innumerable times with my erstwhile santro.
So people have come up with "innovative" techniques to protect them.
The pics are from my home balcony.

these monkeys are real trouble ... i was always wondering how i got dents on the roof of my cars ... till i saw it one day wid my own eyes ...

Never knew Logan could manage this! The only saving grace is that you weren't carrying a 10 MP DSLR to capture the carnage in vivid detail!
