Paid to whoom? Nokia? or your operator?
Nokia's and Google's maps are free.

This fees goes towards Nokia navigation. It would have asked for your credit card details. Version of Nokia maps that is installed on E63 is still not free.

You eed to buy a bluetooth GPS module. It costs 2k - 5k. Do You do not have to buy it from Nokia, any make with decent GS chip would work fine.

Available on ebay for 3k. Holux is a good brand.

E.g: eBay India: holux M-1000 Bluetooth GPS receiver (item 270547893620 end time 23-Mar-2010 15:47:18 IST)

Is it possible to use a front-end, like Garmin Mobile XT and google maps? I want to use google/yahoo maps, but i also want the maps to turn around as I am turning around.

I recently bought a external GPS receiver from Ebay US - Globalsat BT359 (its an OEM for At&T) for 25$.

Tried to use it with laptop and it worked great. Recommended if you can source it from Ebay US.

@deep: I have an external Bluetooth GPS receiver. I am looking to buy a dedicated GPS PND and I am looking to know if MGMaps can be loaded on it so that I can view Google/Yahoo maps on it. I am not interested in turn-by-turn instructions, just a moving dot on the highways on google/yahoo maps is all I am looking for. Anything else I get with that will be a bonus for me.

Tracking is common feature in all GPS products. You can call up MMI and ask.

Thanks Ampere,
Another thing - are there any good options for JUST a tracker, on the iphone 2g? I'm assuming these will most likely be free....
