I also think it depends on how much you are willing to spend on modifying your car. Tranplanting a 4g63t into the Indian Lancer will surely make it fast but what if you only have a budget of 10k. In that case I tihnk a VTEC would be better.

And for me too. Will it fit the esteem ?

or maybe he means you sell your car & pay 10K more to get the VTEC & simply sit on it & revv.

Well, everyone here seems to find 10k cheap! What exactly are we talking about - 10 lacs?!! whooh, not cheap in my opinion!

How good would the car with this transplant be? What are 0-100 & 1/4 mile figures expected after the transplant?

Regards
Sandeep

Buy one second hand if you can find. I dont think it has good resale. Hood is also good for engine modification.
I feel in love with this car today. She is on top of my list whenever i plan to buy a new car.
are you suggesting the SRV for mods for performance ?
and hows the hood good for engine modification ..? sounds interesting, what other hoods can you suggest us for engine mods ?

SRV is useless. The gearshift is off a bullock-cart. No actually the cart is better, no gearshift. And what sort of mods will you do to that engine? Easier to buy a Lancer and do what's mentioned here...

Yes, it has been done, and the car in question held the Indian drag record for years. And yes, it can.

Hi

Curiosity got me again, if one were to use a Cedia to mod, why change the engine ? Is the Cedia not a decent performer as is - just adding free flow exhaust, conical filter, porting & polishing, I thought should enhance the performance to a decent enough level (I guess it's the perception of decent enough which varies from person to person)

What would your take be on the above stated mods ? What BHP would you reckon one would achieve with the above VS the engine transplant? It would be nice if you & other pros can enlighten the "janta"

Cheers

You'll still get whacked by an RS. Evo is 300+ bhp we're talking about.

Don't go by the name

Guys

Don't go by the name....the EVO is hell of a beast and don't even compare it to a stock or modified lancer...it's the same difference that is there between a nissan skyline and skyline godzilla, subaru wrx or wrx impreza STI....in case of a tuned EVO..we rae talking about ferrari beating capability
