Front CS50 3500/-
He suggested not to go for RE70 for front as its reflective and instead go for CS50.
And installation would be done at home by 3M professionals.

This was in Sep 09. Will call him again this week for final price and installation.
Thanks! Exactly what I needed!

Back RE70: Rs 1,000
Total: Rs 4,200

Which is better 3M RE50 or 3M CS50 ?
By the looks of the specs RE50 looks better (TSER RE50 =43 > TSER CS50 =33) But i heard that RE series is metallic so it might pose hindrance in catching mobile signals.IS IT TRUE

Yes. You are right. I went for CS50. BTW RE50 which is a metallic tint goes well for white and silver vehicle. CS50 goes well for other darker shades in my opinion.

Hi all,

i just bought a Safari GX last week and will be installing a sunfilm.

My car dealer quotes it at 2.5k for all 6 windows and the rear windshield. However, blackening the A,B and C pillars are not included and they are asking 500 more for the job. so is it really worth paying the 500 extra for the pillars?
and should i do it at the dealers place or will i be able to get a better deal from some accessories store?

just want to let you know guys that i fixed 3M film on my Honda City
RE35 sides and RE50 (single sheet) on rear and nothing on front. It costs me 5.2K at Honda showroom, secunderabad and done by 3M. I felt it's expensive but thought of getting it done at only Honda showroom as they going to open side panels etc..

they usually put RE50 sides and RE70 on the rear (as per RTA) and charges 4.7K. Since I had put not standard they charged more :-(

Booked my i20 today at Jayabharat, Prabhadevi in Mumbai & asked him about sunfilms.

He said he'd offer Garware films (RTO Compliant - didn't know the exact code) - 4k for front w/s & approx 2-2.5k for the sides & rear.
Is Garware good? or should i look at 3m or v-kool. My budget can only be stretched to 10k.
and i must get good cell & gps reception as a SatNav is on my buying list

Have RE50 sides and RE70 back on both cars, none at front... No problems with mobile signals...

Hi Guys I need to put sun film on sides & rear glass of my Civic. Might go for 50 or 70% visibility on side and 70% visibility at rear. My main aim is heat reduction in passenger cabin. Today I got quote as following -
1. Garware - Rs 1200
2. Lumar - Rs. 1800
3. V-Kool -Rs. 9600 ( Will be done at my house)

The v-kool is the starting range and the guy said it can reflect upto 66% of heat.

Please help..

Thanks,
Manu Chawla
