That's the emission test as Latheesh pointed out.

Weird maybe you should ask him to rephrase that. Have heard of smoke testing/sanity testing when it comes to software's.

True. Havent seen this before. Pollution/Emission test is commonly used.

Saw a hot pink Honda City ZX with a tall shiny boot-mounted rear airfoil here in TVM yesterday.

I was unable to get a pic as I was driving in heavy traffic at the time.
