Hey,
get the car and the money ready and give me a call I know someone who will restore it and bring it on the road pretty quick and pretty cheap.
Before anyone asks no he is not a tuner nor does he mod cars.

Thanks a ton Amit, I know you and the 91 were the inspiration behind his build since day 1. Its really nice that you are ready to help us on this. I shall talk to you soon.

Crazydiablo, actually I am the lucky one to have him & the baleno . He has done a lot lot more for me.

By the way, I remember him telling me it was from US of A.

I actually have that in mind. Need to talk to memo or Jay, as they have similar seats in their cars.

Guys, thank you all for the support. I know with your help, I can do this. Its really nice to see that he has such wonderful, caring friends here.

kewl man.. should meet u guys up on my next trip to banglore, seeing this thread and all whats written here did remind me a lot about another banglore member shravan316. all the best with the sprucing up!

ps: if budget isnt a constraint and if its poss change up the alloys, imo they would suit the swift more than the baleno, or if 1885's swift has a good set of alloys, swap them up.

A small update.

Couple of days back, Rahul had to drive the car from his old apartment to his new one. After the battery was re-charged the car started with the first crank. No signs of short-circuitry or burning of wires were noticed. There was an unusual noise coming from the gearbox like "karkarkar", he tells me that's due to lack of oil supply to the gears or worn out gears. Apart from this, there is no other issue. The car is normal till about 3,000 rpm and then the clutch starts to slip.

I could see the excitement in his voice when I spoke to him on this issue.

Listen chaps , why don't you get the car running back in stock condition ? I don't intend to play spoilsport here but then a turbo install with all its bells and whistles will take its own sweet time. You and I know pretty well that there are hardly or if at all any so called tuners here who can accomplish this 100%.

I suggest that you the get car up and running in its stock form.

0111, that's probably the most preferred way to get the baleno back on the road and running again. Besides, I believe the old adage goes - once bitten, twice shy?

I assume he top upped the tranny fluid before driving.

Jitu, that sound was coming when the car went in for the last re-build as well. I inspected some of the gears we had used (for custom ratios from other trannys), their teeth had worn out and we had to replace them. Also what I have noticed is that this sound normally comes when the car is on an inclination of sorts, when all the oil transfers to one side of the tranny. I have noticed this sound on many other cars too. On plain level ground, it rarely comes. Its only at start-up. Once the oil heats up, the sound used to disappear.

@ Riju, kk : Like I have mentioned here before, turbo is not in the pipeline anytime soon. I had bought the stuff a long time back but somewhere lost my way with the project. I shall start that project ONLY if I can find someone reliable enough to do it or do a DIY (that way I can blame anyone but myself or get conned by anyone). Turbo is the least of my worries now.

Hey as for the seats don't you have the stock seats from my car, you could go ahead and use those, all they are is a swap for Art Leather seats, at least for the time being, for the sparcos could source out something for you from one of the rally boys. But mine are not up for sale, sorry. About the wiring and rest of the Checks take it to some one who you both will be comfortable with. A few words I had to say. And all the best with the build.

Rahul, Hi,

Your justification seems incorrect, if there is an oil pump in the system and it is working!

Cheers

Mo(h)nish, only your rear seats are with me. And I have kept them safely since they were supposed to be given to Jay and he didnt take it. I didn't want to use them without your perm or put you in a uncomfortable situation by asking for them. Another problem is you have art leather, then the front and the rear seats wont match and will look ugly IMO. So thought of getting the whole thing done up.

I don't think she meant buying your seats. She meant she will ask you and Jay's help to source similar seats.

The folks at a MASS should be able to replace the Stage II clutch. I got mine done from them and have had absolutely no problems. The installation procedure of the Exedy clutch is exactly the same as a stock clutch. So you should not have any worries there.
