I am thinking of jumping from Red to Burnt orange as it stays on the same shade. Not sure yet though how it might look on a stock sfxi with 2003 grille.

Take this as an opportunity to mod the bumper and grille. Last time I checked grey market (made in Taiwan)lancer headlights were available for around 1300 or 2300 ( dont remember properly). But this was for the 03 model.

i have the type one lancer, so headlights from depo cost 2400 a pair, But my lights are intact, i thought of going for a evo 4 design bumper, then the ground clearence is always an issue. we have the worst imaginable roads in and around gods own country, so having a low GC car is a nightmare. Plus i always loved the stock looks of a lancer, Next in line is one spare alloy and 2 new tyres, after that damping then ICE upgrade(read, replace the HU and AMP). So in short no body mods for the next one year.

The bonnet is tinkered, the bumper looks ok with no paint loss, the bumper mounting bracket is in place, the right headlight and indecator broke one clip each, they are fabricating the bracket in metal, which was half done when i visited them today, the grill will be fixed too and painted if needed, I asked the painter not to paint the bumper now, as i am very much interested in a evo 4 bumper. So they have promissed be a delivery by tomorrow evening. I will post some pics then.

The workshop is great they promised me to fabricate an EVO 4 bumper but i do not know the dimentions of the fog lamps in them so i have to first shop for them and then they will buy a used bumper and integrate it in it.

The paint-job looks awesome. Though the initial effort to identify the right workshop was harrowing, the final outcome is worth the effort taken.

@Pramod, how much did the Borla end-can cost you ? Also, is this a simple bolt-on part ? Is this fitted as-is after the stock muffler or other mods need to be done before fitting it ? Is it available for other cars too ?

I dont know if it differs between dealerships but when I got the rear bumper painted last time, the colour chipped and bubbles popped up within 6 months. Fortunately the dealer was quick to give us a free repaint. The problem cropped up again after a year. I hope it has nothing to do with the colour if provided by Mitsubishi and a dealer level issue.

Pramod,

I felt bad when i saw the other thread that your car was damaged in the accident. Hope your car comes to its former glory soon. You have a nicely done Lancer but as you mentioned the evo4 bumpers would be having issue with the GC right, so are you still going for that bumper? The alloys are awesome. Do you mind sharing the make of the alloy and specs of the tires fixed in them?

Thanks SB, its a bolt on end can but the flanges differ in size so had to put an intermediate pipe and an adaptor to get it right, second problem is this thing is heavy so had to put a lot of

I am getting it done outside, this guy is the best in the bussiness, and i am getting a lot of discount from him, the bubbles usualy from if the putty is substanded or not fully dry when paint was applied, the best part is this guy who i give my car to is so nice and a gentleman he is doing up every thing for 3k now, i am not painting the bumper as its not badly damaged, there is not even a paintchip due to the impact. I am going for an evo 4 bumper sooner or later.

The bumpers yes, i got the alloys used from a very nice man, those were leauge alloys orignally silver, i painted them matt black, the pics of when the came are in the previous pages. getting the same design will be difficult, i have 205 50 R 15 tyres on them. I feel the lancer will look nice in 16" or 17" alloys, but have herd horror stories when people go 17.

Finally on friday, the car came home, i am down with viral fever so could not post pics on the same day. The bonnet is to be aligned properly, since i was down with fever i just took the delivery and left. Venus guys just charged me 3k for the whole thing, there was a lot of denting to be done on the bumper, the grill was broken and twisted the bumper badly caved in and both the headlights and side indicators lost couple of clips. It was raining cats and dogs here that is why it took so much time. Let the pic do the talking.

Finally decided to do up my Lancer. Edit: paint job complete.-dsc01473.jpg

My tyres are now a big cause of concern, they started wobbling after they came from the service center. i guess i will buy two new ones for the front and then balance them, hopefully everything gets sorted out once in for all.

^^That was fast. Yeah the bonnet needs to be correctly aligned. Ask a Mitsubishi service centre to courier you the diamond logo in the front. It is causing an eye sore. On second thought if someone rips it again, that will be an eye sore + a heart break, not to mention the INR 70 down the drain. Wish i was there to courier it to you.
