Indian Muscle Car Mod : A Modernized Contessa. (w/ WIP Pics!)

Hi Mates

I recently met Mr.Sunil, a car & bike enthusiast who is presently in process of Modding his Contessa to Camero.

I will be shortly inviting them to be members of our family "Team-BHP".

Sunil is teamed up with Nigel (A Car & Bike Mod Specialist) in Pune. Nigel has completed many Mods on bikes and says Contessa to Camero is going to be the most challenging job he has ever performed.

Sunil is aware about Team-BHP and is more keen to be a part of his family. He would need our advise and cooperation to enable his dream project come true.

So friends lets meet our new mates shortly.....

Reitz...

From your description, they must have already conceived the idea and the room for deviation might be very narrow. As far as i understand if they are looking for a plain jane muscle car, then they have to look for a heart which is more mechanical than electrical. This is my 2 cents. There are many options available(though rare) try getting a better heart(i do not second skoda v6). Please share the proposed design pics to get better compliments/comments. Most such projects creates a lot of noise in the initial stages but ultimately loose their charm. Last thing i remeber was a mustang project, it was immediately given 4 stars but soon it turns out to be too loud for our taste and within a day or two it was for sale.

No offences to anyone but these yester year cars hold a lot of sentimental values for most of us, since both the car(before and after) are legends so i would request you to be careful, and not to go over the top. Just my 2 cents worth.

Incidentally, I'd once come across a similar contessa conversion on the Orkut Contessa community where one was being broken down and rebuilt to resemble the looks of a Dodge Challenger!!

There were few pics available of the work in progress, however no clue about the end result.

Will share the link soon.

Dear pramodkumar & Marcus

Thanks for sharing your view,

But as a seasoned T-Bhpian I have also come across a lot of similar projects in our community but there was no end result or the project went on for a sudden halt.

My prime focus and intrest in covering this project for our community is the amount of enthu I saw in Sunil and his team mate Nigel.

Sunil has already completed his dream Bike Mod from CBZ to his dream design.. and it costed about 70 K and time of about 2 months.....

So I the proud Team-BHPian am on their side to support and provide our suggestions.......

I have asked Sunil to register and he would be submitting his registration application today/ early tomorrow, so would request our Admin to support him and invite to our community.

I just received few more detailed photos of the project and am resizing them to a lower size to reduce the amount of server space utilization... would keep you updated mates....

Pramod and Markus... Thanks again for being there to support this young enthusiast's...

Mates we need more support and comments.......

CAMERO is just the inspiration... sunil is enthusiast driver and also a self modeler... he is an artist and sketched his own model for bike...

he is working on his car model.... will post his sketches once I am done with resizing...

Regards

Way to go buddy, am waiting for more on this. Was thinking about the same concept for a long time, converting a Contessa to Camaro. Good to see someone do it so well.

The sketches are all great buddy, but I am have the following concerns :
1) Have you mapped the designs to the Contessa body frame, chasis etc?
2) the 4 lakh budget sounds very conservative to me, considering the mods you have lined up in the two sketches we might be looking at a higher amount
3) The rear diffusers and the front bumpers, how are you getting them fabricated?

Considering the laziness of labourers and other people who have to do the fabrication work, I hope your friend knows the kind of time that will be required to push everyone and get the work done. Not to discourage you guys, but be prepared to either kidnap them or hold their kids as ransom to make them work and finish it atleast in a few months.

Nice sketches my friend and all the best to you.

Keep updating the thread, Is the rear bumper concept bit too much? looks cool in sketches, hope you have some good fabricators to execute the same.

Good start Half finish - follow the theme and as suggested my the fellow members - get the fabricators to work on the project in full strech - if left btw the enthu and the josh would fade off sure.

and all the best for the project !
