Hey guys digging up my old thread! Since i am not able to get even 50 grands for my esteem, i have decided to keep this car for ever. Just recently got the rto passing and green tax thing sorted, thinking of coverting it into auto transmission so that my wife and father can drive it as a daily market car. Can someone pls help me with the most worst case complications i could face in the conversion.
The parts shall be sourced from Kurla Cst road of course.
Not worried about the fuel efficiency at all, neither have i ever calculated this beasts FE.
A fresh paint job of wife's choice of color is also on the cards.
The car is not even 5000 kms run after the enginw rebuild and fittment of a complete new 134 gas system AC.
Just worried about the complications which mighr render the car unusable during the conversion. Also being a carb engine auto transmission of a carb esteem wouldnt trouble much.

Wise decision

. The esteem AX gearbox is a direct fit. Or to avoid mod nightmares you can get an auto clutch setup . Convert the interiors back to type 3.

Na bro cant convert the interiors to type 3. Sold of the old stuff man. I guess AX came in type 1 also right. Will search for a scrap car n see what all can b pulled out.

Any chance MASS would be able to get a new or refurbished tranny? I have heard tata or mahindra providing new engines.

Possible but getting it from mass will cost a bomb and cst road it would be less than 5K with lots of extra goodies which you can pickpoint foc.
