Planning to get Recaro replica seats from Saudi. Can some one tell if there is any duty on getting the seats?

There will be duty on it and you can only cargo it as it would be difficult to carry in along with your luggage. You can walk away without paying anything if you can prove its for your car and not for sale. Show your RC or something.

BTW there are malasian make replicas available in india for 8-15k a pair, why dont you check them unless there is a serious cost advantage getting it from saudi, There are some selling in our classifieds as well. One more thing i wanted to add is i have heard of horror stories or reclainers failing in the middle of nowhere, so please think before taking a plunge.

The cost advantage is straight 50%(installation charges not taken into consideration).Non-recliner are appx Rs.1500 each, and the recliner appx 2k.
I think the best would be to carry and walk with it, will take a copy of RC.
can you explain the horror stories in details.

Wow for that cost its definitely worth buying. I have heard once a recliner failed in the middle of a drive and the backrest fell flat back, just imagine driving like that. This would be even worse if you have 5 occupants.

Since these replicaros cost peanuts in the middle east,
How much do the genuine sparco/recaro/OMP etc go for?
Can you give a ballpark of the range?

Havent seen the genuine ones yet in Saudi, will be traveling to Bahrain next week, hope to find them thr. BTW you can check them on summitracing.com, prices for the parts are more or less same as listed on the summitracing page.

Guys, I have given my car for Engine Work, issue was white smoke, unusual drop in oil level, low compression and loss of mileage. After opening the Head we will come to know other mess ups inside the engine.

Guys please suggest, any thing specific I need to take care of ?
