Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

I have been using the 'WAXPOL' Wind shield Concentrate for my car windshield. A 200 ML bottle is priced at around Rs. 60/-. Every time I refill my windscreen water reservoir, I add a teaspoon of the concentrate and I am pretty happy with the outcome.

And also every time I fill diesel in my car at my regular BP pump, I avail their services (clean both the front / rear windscreens). Sometimes If I am passing by the pump and the windscreen is dirty, I just drive in there for getting the windscreens cleaned and they do it with a smile. I use the windscreen washing mechanism mostly during long drives outside city.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

I've been using 1 rupee shampoo packets since some time for Washer fluid. Recently switched to Meguiars NXT Car wash since I got something better for the body. Does the job beautifully and much better than shampoo.

Best part is when I have bird poo on the windscreen, I spray, wait 10 seconds for the poo to soak in the fluid and wipe. Comes off clean every time!

Haven't faced any problems in the last 4 years-windshield becomes clean. So I safely presume it does the job

Guys pls avoid the use of detergent or shampoo. In the long run they clog and damage the washer motor. Use a windshield wash liq that you get. Or Colin if you want a cheaper option.

Does is job well. No issues since I have started using it. It is also depending on the wiper blades condition.

Dried up stuff (Bird poop, dead insects with blood stains) does take a two or three washer jets but normal dirt is off in one stroke.

If there is dried up poop/sap from plant, I always prefer removing them with a paper or cloth with water being poured from a mug. I would not advice using the wipers on dried poop/plant sap. I accidentally ran my wipers once and have long scratches on my wind-shield . I'm lucky that its not in my field of view.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

Compared to plain water, a shampoo/car wash mixed with water is definitely better. However, at times, it does clog the openings. The solution to that is that whenever I'm mixing the car wash liquid in water (I use Amway's car wash) I ensure that I run it at least once or twice a week.

I've used it on a lot of long dusty drives to Spiti / Rajasthan and it gets rid of all sorts of insect stains / dirt / tree sap stains. I carry the car wash in the backpocket of my seat and use just about less than a teaspoonful with ~2.5-3 litre of water and have never felt the need for any other type of windscreen wash fluid.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

Waxpol concentrate, 200ml bottle for Rs.65 works out to be the cheapest of all and effective too.

Another product by Motomax, Rs.30/- per sachet gives a nice fragrance when the windshield washer is used when the AC is on fresh air mode.
Even the company recommends using the washer every now and then
I am using this currently and the fragrance is very strong.
