I got mine from Tyre empire on Varthur road, but it should be available at Shell pumps, Shopping malls or good automotive shops.
On Snapdeal the Sonax clear view 250ml costs Rs86. So aren't the Shell people overcharging? Or is it the same product. Hrman can you please confirm whether its the same product in the below link?

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

Clinic plus shampoo sachets @ Re.1 worked good and fine for 5 years on our A-Star.
A showroom driver said about the shampoo.
I had once bought a washer fluid from a car accessory shop for 120 bucks which hardened the wiper blades within a month. Then we reverted back to the cheap and effective clinic plus.

Its for the 25ml. It is a misprint and they will never fulfill the order, finally offering a refund. The 250ml is much costlier, MRP being in the tune of 350INR.

Which brand was the washer fluid?

When I tried Clinic plus shampoo in my santro, the water spraying holes use to block like crazy. So tried the Maruti washer fluid & ever since the clogging never occurred & the washer fluid works better than the shampoo in cleaning.
And I did not find any hardening of wiper blades either.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

I have used both Honda made Fluid and Sonax. In my experience, Sonax wins hands down. I suffered from fogging issues with Honda Fluid on highways and noticed slight distortion to oncoming traffic lights. With Sonax, didnt experience these issues at all.

The key is to get the ratio right, i dont dump the fluid and add water to the reservoir, i premix the exact ratio and add this premix into the reservoir. The effect of sonax will be noticeable when the entire reservoir gets empty and you refill it with Sonax premix.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

I had recently parked my vehicle near some place where some building was being painted. Upon return, I found that a few drops of paint has dropped on my car's windshield. Any idea, how to clean this? I don't want to use thinner as I fear it might damage the glass.
Anything else that I can try?

You can use clay to remove those drops.

The paint spots have dried up now. The clay could cause scratches if I try on the glass, right?

Using a clay will not scratch glass. Thinner will not affect glass too.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

Got this concentrate from the VW service center today:

Best Windshield Washer Fluid?-15.jpg

Best Windshield Washer Fluid?-16.jpg

Cost me Rs. 310. Just a couple of capfuls for the whole tank. Smells like Listerine.

Re: Best Windshield Washer Fluid?

I have been using Amway's car wash shampoo. Around 20-30 ml for the tank & rest with water. Works really good.

I have the habit of using too much wash-wipe, so concentrates by Ford, VW will turn out to be expensive :|

Glass is amongst the most non-reactive materials. Thats why most laboratories uses glass ware for storing most notorious chemicals(including all strong acids).

So, you can freely use acetone/thinner to clean the glass surface. However, make sure that acetone/thinner is used in minuscule amounts(preferably a clean cloth dipped with acetone) so that it should not come in contact with the paint/plastic or else the thinner may leave nice irreversible marks on plastic and paint.

Fairly certain that what you''ve bought is primarily a winter anti-freeze concentrate. You're meant to buy the G-052-162-A2 for normal use.

Any feedback regarding Proklear windshield wash concentrate?

I am currently using the washer solution given by MASS. No complaints though, just want to try something different.

Came across this Proklear. Want to know before I purchase it.
