My Getz 1.3 has completed 22k kms and Iam thinking of shifting over to Synthetic Oil now. What would be the best brand and specs to go for? Price of the same?

My Baleno has done 37K. Planning to switch to synthetic. I have been using Motul Mineral till now. Please recommend. I have a few queries like always

1> Flushing is needed I guess? Any risks of leak at this stage
2> What grade to use? 15W40 is what Maruti says. But do we have any synthetic with that grade?
3> Mobi1 is 5W50. Can I safely put that in?
4> How about Motul Synthetic? Heard its good. Any reviews.
5> Do I need to go for injector cleaning?

What are the current approx price of
1> Mobi1
2> Motul
3> Castrol
Any other option

FYI my Baleno has a FFE and a head job. Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated

Samarth !
Its near JC Road and the dealer shop is "SPEEDAWAY" and here is the number 41496502 . You need to go into the lane that connects the JC Road and Urvashi Theater road (1st right @ signal stop after crossing Kamat Hotel and a petrol pump). Once you enter the road after going for about 200 meters you need to get into a small lane (forgot which bylane it was) .
I suggest you better call them up as i am not that familiar with that area and they can guide you better.

For those who haven't had luck in sourcing Motul, try getting in touch with this chap : Amit Gala : 9820134092 (Mumbai).

What's the price of the Motul synthetic in India? What are the grades available?
Do they have anything for the CRDI synthetic oil market that is wide open today?

Just came to know. Black Pearl had bought Motul synthetic for Rs.2700. He used it in his Baleno and is more than happy.

So I might go for Motul.Tried and Tested. Anything better than Motul?

guys i am having a second hand santro which i purchased 6 months ago. it had done 64k n odo (now its 65.5k) and had and still having good condition. i am planning for a oil change. But i dont know which type of oil had been used in previous oil change (i meant synthetic or mineral oil )!
my usage is around 3.5k-4k/ year. and all my trips are short i.e. less than 20km. i m living n kerala,so no extreme temperature changes here!!

i wanna no,

which type of oil suits?
i am skeptical abut engine flushing, is it a must for changing from mineral oil to synthetic oil ?
is castrol magnatec a good buy for my conditions?
also can any1 recommend which transaxle fluid to buy?

Magnatec is a good choice, you can use simple flushing oil to clean before you fill up, if you want to avoid the flushing agents.

Transaxle fluid you are referring to is gear box/differential oil? If so stick to manufacturer specified range, castrol will have stock of the same.

GL4 is the standard. 75W90 is the multigrade oil.
