Can anyone tell me the recomended grade for an alto please, I have used castrol previously however do not remember the grade. -

Just changed over to castrol edge fully synth from magnatec semi synth. Engine seems a lot smoother now.

Guys do we get Amsoil or Redline synthetic oil in India ? anyone heard of it in India ?

Whatta day I had, the dude's at 3 shell outlets had no clue of this oil grade 5w50. Above all they give you gyan saying "Saar this is recommended for Bangalore"

Ok swift d following is said:

"Be sure that the engine oil you use comes under the quality classification of ACEA B3. The recommended engine oil is SF 15W 40, API CG4 or above."

Oil gurus please recommend options.

Busa, Jaggu last time I was at RNS they were looking at using some synthetic/semi synthetic oil from Shell for the Swift D. Jaggu, why don't you call up RNS and talk to the works manager? He should be able to give you what oil they recommend.

Jaggu, tough to find a oil here that has both B3 & CG rating. Delvac has CG rating, but E3. Mobil 1 Supersync has B3 but CF rating!

Last time I changed my oil, I put in this:

No. It meets B3 & B4 (direct injection i.e. CRDI engines) standards which is specific for European Diesels. And API SM as well which is the latest for all passenger vehicles.

So this oil would be perfectly fine.

5W50 is good for the Alto.
