Dominar is so insipid that half of the interest in lost hearing the name alone! Bajaj! Don't name the bike Dominar . Stick to CS/VS400 or come up with something better. You have done a lot of good things with this bike. Now don't screw all of that up by giving this God-forsaken name to it!

Just Pulsar also makes a lot of better sense

For sure i will ensure that the dominar name is present only in RC card and Insurance if i buy it!

I think they are trying a name that tends to 'stand out' but Dominar will not go down that easily. Kratos or CS400 was more Indian-ish. IMHO, at the end of the day, it's the motorbike that matters and if the motorbike is as good as they say it is, they can name it whatever they want.

They should have launched Dominar before the festive season itself. With the 2017 Duke slayed for early 2017 launch, 'Dominar' would be a tough bike to sell.

AFAIK Bajaj is planning to re-start their pro-biking section. Will it be called 'Pro-biking' or something else is yet unknown. This section will take care of sales and service of their 300+cc motorcycles. Hence the possible name change. I dearly hope they take customer feedback and don't just change the name of sportier variant (SS400) but also change its appearance. (Hypothetically) I do hope KTM shares the Husqvarna design elements with Bajaj. Would absolutely love to see a well-executed scrambler or a cafe racer being produced by mass manufacturers in India.

I know its just a name and shouldn't take away much from an otherwise great product.

Bajaj starts production of CS400 concept-based bike; launch in mid-December

Bajaj Auto has started production of its most powerful bike yet, which is essentially a production model based on the CS400 concept that was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The bike's name hasn’t been revealed yet, while speculations have already pointed towards probable names like VS 400, Kratos and Dominar. However, Bajaj has confirmed that the bike will be launching in mid-December 2016.

Interestingly, this bike is being assembled at an all-women assembly line in Bajaj Auto's plant at Chakan, near Pune, Maharashtra. This assembly line is part of Bajaj's aim to promote gender diversity in its facilities.

But this production version is having telescopic forks and not the USD(upside down) forks which was shown in the concept.

Keeping Indian roads and practicality in mind I do not mind this change.
But what are you views guys ?

Conventional forks actually have an advantage in case of a Sudden Suspension Fluid leakage...

... due to the (conventional) design, the fluid won't get drained suddenly.

Seems like the wait is finally over. Bajaj Dominar set to be launched on December 15th, 2016 and deliveries will begin the following month.

Bajaj Auto has confirmed that its most powerful motorcycle yet will be called the Dominar 400. This announcement comes after various speculations suggested names like Pulsar VS400 and Kratos for the upcoming bike. The Indian 2-wheeler manufacturer also revealed that the Dominar 400 will be launched on December 15, 2016.

According to the official statement released, the word 'Dominar' has been derived from a Spanish word that means 'to excel or exceed in power".
