a bit of the paint from the engine has chipped of and tht part looks silver.i dont know how tthis happened.probably some stone must have scrapped it off while riding.so any suggestions on what i should do ?? will the bajaj guys touch it up or something.

also the place where the silencer is welded near the pillions leg rest has started to rust slightly.its really shocking to see a month old bike rusting already.wonder what will happen in the years to come.

besides that the bikes great !!

Think its 20W50 for Avenger and 20W40 for P180

No Power1 is 15w30 & does not meet the company specified criteria, i had done lot of searching for a good oil for my 180 & landed up with Power1 & it has worked great for my bike for over 10k kms also.

p.s. Had a talk with a Bike Guru & he told me that the only reason for recommeneding a thicker oil for 180 was that the 180 classic's had more than accepted levels of vibrations & to dampen it they recomended the higher grade oil. otherwise the oil for 150 works fine too.
But Yes dont do this if you are not convinced I am just cahring my experience rest is for you to decide.

Nopes Both of them use 20w40. infact when launched (& till avenger came) Pulsar 180 was the only bike in India which needs 20w50 grade engine oil

Revtech: Gimme some time I will check with PB(Planet bajaj) of Pro Biking outlet here & will let you know.

As about the mileag yes even I used to get 50 beofre 1st service, after that depending on how & where you ride it returned me anything from 37 to 44 kpl.

Btw how many kms have you clocked so far ?

hey dude....take your time and let me know...today itself i went for a ride with some buddies.the plan was to chill at khandala but we started climbing the ghats and it started pouring so we turned back. so as of today ive done 1460 kms.i had changed my oil on my 1st service at 750 kms. do you think i should change the oil again at 1500 because many people have told me thta for the 1st 2500 kms change ur oil every 500-750 kms.

Great bike... I also own a Pulsar 180-DTSi (but the white alloy wheels one). For me highest mileage was 48kmpl (long distance Bangalore to Pondicherry riding at about 90kmph) and the worst was 42kmpl (hard riding in Bangalore) Normally I get 45kmpl... (I measure the mileage by the help of tripmeter tankfull to tankfull)

Handling is the best and there is no doubt about it.

Revtech: Great review man...
