yea thats should be possible and i dont think it will cost you much.but id suggest you hold on for a bit.i dont know if you are aware but as i mentioned earlier the speedo aint that great.instead of going like 20-21-22-23-24-25-26 and so on it goes like 20-32-46 specially when your accelerating fast.so jus hold on they may rectify that and then you can change it.

@nikhil: 2004, you say. Well, you can fit the console, but it'll involve changing the wiring harness too, including the fuel tank float/sensor, which could set you back by about 3-4K.

Also, since you have a type I, your digital speedo may actually give a negative error. The new ones ride on 17" wheels, and the type I's ride on 18 inchers, remember?

i noticed the other day that going beyond 105 on the speedo is very difficult.on short stretches i could understand maybe i needed more road but the other day i had an empty long stretch ahead of me and i tried reachin my max and it just wouldn go above 105 maybe at the most 107 but not more.whats the reason for this ?? keeping in mind its a 180 it should do atleast 115-120 on the speedo.

my idle rpm is fine and has never been tampered with.it idles at 1400 rpm when hot so thats fine.what else could it be.what re the things i need to get checked.

If you know some one who has the same model as yours whether he has faced the same problem. Could also be a probelm with the speedo. Get it checked.

Other thing a digital speedo will always go like 20-32-46 instead of 21-22-23. There's nothing wrong with it. This is the reason you don't see digital rev counters on bikes and cars. Digital read out wont keep up with the revs and will be unreadable.

i still cant figure out the solution to this problem.if any one has experienced some thing similar please mention it here.

could it be due to engine oil ? i know this sounds stupid but just tryin to think of all the things ?

No its not the engine oil. How many k's has your bike done? Could be your speedo.

my bikes done about 3700 kms.its 8 months old.i dont think it can be my speedo because uptill 80 kmph ive checked it with other vehicles its accurate so unless it starts malfunctioning at higher speeds its not my speedo.
