re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Will there be a scram version of this engine block? If yes, what's the expected launch time line? It could be a worthy alternative to Triumph Scrambler 400X.

Royal Enfield is very likely to surprise you, pleasantly.

Yes, a road biased version with alloys and smaller front tyre has been seen undergoing road tests.

Date of launch and pricing is not clear as yet. However, given that this so-called scram version shares almost the same specs as it's elder sibling and presuming it to be priced lower than the REH 450, it should be a VFM product and a worthy competition for the Triumph Scrambler 400x.

Is the new engine going to be 40 or 35bhp? Most mags say 40 but Autocar says 35.

Let's wait for the official launch, no need to speculate. In any case, till detailed ride reviews and test rides are done, none of us are putting our money down on one.

She's talking about the old Himmi here. Can you imagine making such a claim for a bike sold in a country of 1B that has been riding this brand for years.

She doesnt talk a lot about the bike. Maybe RE didnt want her to.

If the engine is smooth and the bike is trouble free, this will be a monster hit not just in India but around the world as well.

She has travelled to a ton of countries on the Himalayan 411. RE took her Himalayan and gave her another one. She rode to a lot of countries on that as well.

The quality of her videos is excellent. One of the rare motovlogs that are worth watching in my opinon.

Some grabs from the video.

Overall, it looks decent. I definitely am not liking the the pugmark-ish pattern on the tanks, looks gaudy.

Navigation pod! Stalk is definitely looking like a twig, could be designed a little more aesthetically pleasing.

re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

RE has really upped the ante.
Take a look at the picture of the LED console below.

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed-img_20231011_231447.jpg

All these details are available at a glance :-
  • Speedometer
  • Gear position indicator
  • Odometer
  • Clock
  • Temparature gauge
  • Total distance to destination
  • Distance to next waypoint
  • Fuel gauge.

Once the navigation is switched off, the outer ring doubles up as a digital tachometer.

Truly world class. Good job by RE at this

Agreed, waiting for other color options from RE, they usually don't disappoint with their color options. I think plain white would look good too, but i hope they have the sleet edition on this one, absolutely loved it.

But that navigation pod is mind blowing ! Hope the details are easily readable even in day light , atleast basic info on the map; from the video, it looks like the fonts are large enough.

That’s good observation and details, aviator1101, thanks for sharing.

The other important info Noraly shared in her video, was that the new Himalayan 450 has a 7 step position suspension settings and it can be dialed up to be firmer (13:03 onwards, in her video). She compared this to her old ‘Basanti’ Himalayan, which she called out as a bit soft and saggy (in comparison).

RE has been doing the right things in development of the 450. And we still have more to learn of. 👍🏽

That’s precisely why I think RE has given her the pre-production bike, to ride and experience. She’s good and makes engaging motorcycling content, she likes her Himalayan and she’s already having a connect with the brand. And her viewership is likely more global. And RE sells in multiple global markets. Very smart by RE.
