OMG! Is it really so? need to wait for confirmation then!
Also, according to some internet searching matte seems to be more difficult to maintain. I saw the silver in person and the black alloys go very well with it.

So, with all things considered, I am going for the Jupiter.
Is that steel all around body guard necessary? Looks ugly but people have told me to go for it. It's coming free with it.
Yes, it comes with the steel guard all around. The price is inclusive of all this. I paid 60,500 for Mumbai Registration.

Technically speaking the Wego and Jupiter are one and the same except for the looks and the steel / fibre body.

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

My recently purchased Wego has a small nag. The accelerator bar/hold has a loose ply, which is considerably high. Will tightening the cable fix this or is this normal in all Wego's?

If you are referring to the accelerator play, it can be adjusted easily. It was present in my dio also which is a five minute fix. Either take it to a nearby mechanic or DIY. There is a nut under the accelerator where the cable exits the handle bar. You have to loosen this nut and turn the adjuster nut next to it, and finally tighten back the main nut.

Sure, Will check if this applies to my wego too.

Yikes! Looks like TVS has a fetish for caramel shades. This is ugly.

Overall I feel wego to be more elegant. Purely a personal opinion

Wego has a 'little more than required curvy shape' at the rear is what makes it 'no so sought after' according to my opinion. I have seen very less Wegos than Jupiters in showrooms and even on the roads. I like the front of the Wego and rear of the Jupiter (except the fuel filler cap which is well intergrated on the Wego)

Also, I never knew that "beige" fad would take over even in scooters! What's with black plastic bits being replaced with beige! May help in lessening the color-fade unlike the black plastic bits and keeping the scooter a bit cooler (temperature wise) though!

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

I like the front of the Jupiter and the whole of the Wego. But the back of the Jupiter is just horrible. Its like as if the TVS designers started out with a rectangular block, started carving out the vehicle and ran out of time and money to carve the rear. To add to it is the fuel filler cap. The Wego on the other hand is well crafted right from the front till the rear most portion of the scooter.

Moreover, if someone has seen it on street, the wego got a new caramel coloured shade which looks really bad since its in matte finish. Not sure how such coloured are approved. Reminds me of a new car body panel with just the primer on from the factory.

Are you sure it is just the new colour and nothing else ? I was looking forward to TVS adding on a front disc brake, a digital dashboard and maybe even provding an option of fitting on a small storage box in the front !

If it were, then TVS would have put it up as "features" on their FB page. Since it hasn't, I am guessing that this is only a paint job done on the Jupiter.

Nothing to remove in Wego. Just adjust the nut in the accelerator cable to tighten it. Issue now solved.

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

Now I am getting annoyed with TVS.

Within two months of me buying the Wego, there was some loose connection in the headlight and low/high beam switches. Service centre said that electrical parts are not covered under warranty. If the company doesn't trust its own product, how can we?

After the problem became more severe, I had to pay nearly 400 Rs to get the switches replaced.

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

BHPians,

My activa will soon complete 5 yrs of ownership with 10K kms just nearing by. What is the right time to change the tyres? Presently the MRF Zapper which came with the scooter are showing signs of tread loss (30%), according to Honda service guys, the tyres can still run for an year or 3k kms more. Is it the right time to change the tyres on the account of ageing or should I continue? If I were to change them what are the alternatives?
