15 k is good amount unless you know someone who is will to pay you more than 15 k and yes its true as that bike has hardly any demand so there will be very few takers for the Bike even in second hand market. Do check Jupiter before finalising Wego both are excellent bikes.

Thanks for your suggestion.
I tried through other sources to see if I can get anything more than 15k but no one is interested so far ( have been waiting for one week), so looks like I will have to give it to TVS people only..!

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

Again, visited TVS dealer this morning and managed to get another Rs.1000 making total Rs.16000 for my existing Jive.

Further, I got following quote from them for the Wego (drum):

53,366 - Showroom price of the vehicle
4,801 - Registration/Tax etc
1,475 - Insurance
675 - extra warranty (total 5 years)
3,100 - Accessories (SS guard, seat cover, mat etc)
63,417 - Total

In additioin, they offering me either a half face helmet or a cover for the scooter(free of charge). Expenses for Number plate is not included, but am trying to get that too on their account.

Jupiter will cost less Rs.1200 from the above total amount.

Is that Registration/tax is so costly for a vehicle which base price is Rs.53,366??

Any opinions, please.!!

I have not read the last few pages. But why are you going with Wego if Jupiter is cheaper? Just curious to know.

Yes, Jupiter is about Rs. 1200 less than Wego but Wego has got full metal body, Digital speedometer and Body Balance feature which is missing in Jupiter. Also Wego looks stylish than Jupiter (ofcourse this is my lookout )

Well, I think the 'looks' part indicates you like Wego - so that's fine.

Personally I have not been able to figure out the advantages of "full metal body" - unless someone anticipates a crash every year with the scooter. I heard that Jupiter overall is a better package with big wheels and good pickup and a comfortable ride.

But it all depends on what your existing ride is and what you personally like.
e.g. A friend took my Suzuki Access. He said "This is so heavy". He has a HH Pleasure. Next day, another friend took my Access. He said: "Wow! This is so smooth and light". He has a Honda Aviator.
My wife switches between my neighbor's 2 year old Activa and our 4 year old Access -almost every alternate day. She does not like Access though I can say that it is much better maintained than the Activa. She also rides the Wego, occasionally, but still prefers the Activa.
So, enjoy your ride.

Wheels and tubeless tyres etc are same in Wego and Jupiter (also same engine but because of Jupiter is little lighter it gets little more mileage than the Wego - this is what I read from many reviews also same suggestion from the showroom manager).

I too was confused between Wego and Jupiter but somehow Wego attracts me more than Jupiter. Since last 5 years I have been using TVS Jive but now I think it is time to change to Scooter (considering my age also ) hence this decision..!!

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

I need a bit of help on my 2007 Activa that has run little more than 40K Kms.

The suspension is killing me. Every small bump or pothole on the road transmits into my body. The Honda service centres as usual are of no help.
I have replaced the front suspension a while back. Its not helping. Recently I gave it to a Castrol bike point. First time they said they greased the suspension and changed some 'bush'. It was ok for a while. But now the issue is back.

The back suspension behaves ok when there is a pillion. But when I am riding alone rebounds very harshly when going over a hump or a pothole.

Please advise what I should be checking.

Check the Tyre pressure. Scooter ride quality deteriorate with high Tyre pressure.

40k is also quite a lot considering Indian road conditions. You may as well replace the rear shocks

Why don't you ask the Service center to change the suspension as anyways its done 40k kms well passed it's life I think, are you still facing issues from your front suspensions?. I think changing rear suspension should solve the issues.

40K!! That's all is the life of the suspensions? HHmm....let me first change the rear suspension and see the effect.
Like I said the front suspension was changed at a local mechanic. Now I'm having doubts as to whether he changed it at all!

Well if you commute on bad roads frequently then 40k is the average life of scooter shock absorbers.

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

Update

Took delivery of my TVS Wego just an hour back.

The odometer was showing 76kms (The RTO office is around 37/38 kms one way from the showroom). They water washed the vehicle prior handing over it to me.

Accessories: Full SS guard, Seat Cover and floor mat.

Free from the showroom: Half face helmet (MRP written on the box Rs.950)

After taking delivery, drove the scooter for around 10kms and I felt the ride is very pleasant and comfortable.

I think, the technology of Body Balance has some effect on riding steady and stable and such smoothness was not there with my previous vehicle (TVS Jive). Will have to see the effect when riding with a pillion.

Not attaching any screenshot as same is already posted by many members here.

Thanks.
