We are going to make even powerful version of this bike and greaves engine is not 6.5 hp actually its 5 hp as per village mech. But the torque is amazing. 1:1 gear box is not good for diesels.
We are going to build a real cruiser capable of 100+ cruising all day long and its a V-twin diesel 22 hp. 49 Nm@1500-1800 rpm

Hi Vijay - got ur PM, great to know about your project - post some pics of the new bike and lets started with some ideas.

Ps - whats the engine you are referring to? Is it a Marine use engine? What are its dimensions? What is its displacement (cc)??

The project is yet to progress. I just now purchased the bull. It will be the same frame but alteration will be done as double cradle frame. If the engine head is so close to the suspension then i need to increase the rake angle few degrees.

Project:'La Poderosa' (Diesel V-twin cruiser bike from scratch) - xBhp

you can get more details of ongoing project and engine specs.
We chose water cooled engine rather than aircooled.

Way to go Vijaycool! I'm also very much fascinated by the idea of a decently powerful bike powered by a diesel engine. I hope it turns out wonderful. I wish you great success with this project!

Buying a diesel bull is not so easy. Village ppl never part so easily with their bull. They treat as their family member.

Its a cool price for 1990+ bike. My friend tried the same talking to the owner but in contrary they were aggressive and asking "will you sell your brother for money". its all depends on the owner especially well maintained bling bike. Whats the cost of 5 speed gearbox

right said - if JACS wants a bullet - this is not for you. This is just a slow rattling diesel motor on a bullet chassis. Ride will be Ok, but surely not like a petrol one. Let me know if you want a ride then you can decide...
It would be great if I get an opportunity as diesels are very rare....

Oh.. then my bike is expensive for 1964 model. Diesel bulls are not meant for city riding. Take it to a long ride it will capture your heart. Also you dont require battery and alternator is pretty strong. Mine running at 100/90 headlight

AFAIK petrol bullet requires battery to start. But in diesel the magneto is pretty strong and you can run 100/90 without any need for battery. Diesel ignition system doesnot require battery unless its equipped with electrical fuel pump

This has decomp lever. But if you dont know to start its a pain. we really suffered while returning back. In the initial days i used to try to start the bike for almost 45 mins to 1 hr i cant press past 3/4 of the lever. You need to pump start the engine as like Rajdoot , yezdi
