My first bike was Suzuki Shogun. After 6 months, I sold it and bought RD350 high torque. When I moved to Bangalore from Udupi, I sold the high torque and bought RD350 low torque. Used this for 2 years till I completed my MBA and sold it to a garage owner in Adugodi. I had to sell it as I joined a marketing job. I think he still has it. It was in excellent condition and sold it for 19K in 2003!! :-(

My First Bike (TDJ 5043) was Ind-Suzuki 1985 Model bought it for 8,250 during 2002 Engine was in very good condition however the body parts were rusted. I spent total 15000 and modified to latest Suzuki Samurai. I used that bike for two years and again spent 10000 for engine work and new set of tyres and at last sold it for a deal of 12,500, the guy paid me just 5000 and dissapeared with my bike & documents and cheated the balance amount.
The bike had a Shogun Boar and custom exhaust, giving a fuel efficiency of 40-45 kmpl, I enjoyed its every ride it was an amazing machine
I miss her a Looooooooooot.

My first bike was a Yezdi Classic 1987 (CKM-17). Left it with a mechanic to use it as I had a couple of other bikes that needed attention. Went back after a year to find it rusting near a tree on the road. I was so shook up that I junked the bike for Rs. 1500. The only thing remaining is the RC book now. I spent 25k in doing up the bike and junked it for Rs. 1500. Now even if I cant ride the bike, I leave it at my house but will never make the mistake of giving it to someone to take care.

My first bike was hero puch turbo sport (nothng turbo in it, just name). It had alloy wheels and it was automatic when I bought it. Later I got bored with slow pickup and got it converted to 2 gear and its pickup was like rocket Also did a DIY job and fitted it with 12v 4.5Ah battery, powerful twin horns, halogen headlamp of 35w. Sold it for 7.5K when came to college.
Now I own Yamaha Gladiator DX.

My first bike was HH Splendor, it even even got stolen, but somehow it was traced by police and i got her back.

I bought it in 1996, always use to get it serviced every 2000kms along with the oil change without a miss, did close to 86000 kms on it and it always returned me an FE of 70 +

Top Speed achieved on full throttle was 98 kmph.

I sold it off in 2005, as i couldnt find a safe luxurious parking space for her.

My first bike was a Enfield Fury Zundapp, was the 3rd bike. Totally german, damn Enfield guys could not service it professionally as they were not trained nor had spares.

Awesome performance and was one of the first bikes in India to have disc brakes

My first motorcycle was a Yamaha RXG - 135. Rode this one hard, really hard. Probably give those Yamaha boys with the whizzing exhausts a run for their money back then.
Cannot say I took much care, I would just fill gas, and thats about it.
Six years after parting with the RXG I brought home the Thunderace, and two years later traded that in for my current CBR 954.

manson.

Yamaha all the way..

An RX100 bought in 1994. Took good care of her and was with me till 2000 when I sold it off (rather an acquaintance bought it off me )

This was followed by Yaamaha 125 1979 model bought through an acquaintance in an auction from yamaha. This bike was gem of a machine, 5 gears, front discs, tacho, high seat. Held it for a couple of years and then sold off because was travelling to KL for a long term.

Upon return, I realized I had grown too old for bikes

First was a Kinetic Honda *ducks for cover*. I used it for barely 3 - 4 months, before I rode a friends RX100. That was it. A high-revving, light and quick (for the time) motorcycle was just what I wanted. I rode the awesome RX for exactly one year.....exact down to the day. Unfortunately, she got stolen one night from the Gaiety Galaxy movie complex in Bandra. That pretty much ended my biking career!

Now, with a higher level of responsibility than before, neither me nor my family are comfortable with bike ownership. Especially not after losing a very dear friend to one.
