Visited this place this last weekend on another solo ride - Kootagal Thimmappana Betta which basically feels like a shrunk down version of the Grand Canyon. It is connected via the Mysore highway. Got this suggestion from this thread. Its barely 80 kms from Bangalore.













The route and location are extremely scenic. No trekking needed and there is paid parking for your cars and bikes. I reached Sunday morning 9:30 am and it was completely empty. Its extremely quiet and windy and one can just sit here for hours. Nothing to eat or drink around here so best to get your own stuff and not litter.

If there are any rides happening this upcoming weekend, please let me know. Would be nice to have some company.

So I had change of plans and went to Yercaud and came back doing around 450+ Km. This is the route I had taken.



The roads were all nice apart from the intermittent rains while coming back.

Here is the bike waiting for the rains to subside.



I started 5.30 am and was back at 2 pm. The return journey could be a little faster if the rains were not present.

The KTM ADV 250 felt zen at 90-100 kmph. It broke the immersion when it went above 110 due to the slight amount of vibrations at foot pegs. One by product of this is the very decent fuel efficiency of around 38 kmpl.

So today me and my friend (on his Duke 390) went on morning ride to BR Hills to run in his new Apollo Alpha H1 tyres.

Weather was really great throughout the ride with the usual traffic on the kanakpura road while returning.

You could have gone further towards Chamrajnagar through the Forest road. It's a fantastic road thru the jungle with lots of corners—almost negligible traffic. Among the best forest section, I have ever ridden.

Not exactly a short morning ride but still posting here.

I wanted to test out the long term comfort of KTM ADV 250 and hence did a 1000km ride today to Sattur( approx 500km from my place in bangalore) and back.

Left the house at around 5 am.


and was back at around 8 pm



The idea was to compare it with the Hornet 160r on which I had done a Biryani run to Hyderbad in 2020. I can definitely feel myself getting older.

So I visited this hilltop called Mallappa Konda last weekend which is around 95kms from Electronic city, Bengaluru. This is a place where 3 states( Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu) meet.



The road which leads to the top are very good with few hair pin bends. There is a small trek to climb to the top.





The best time to visit this place is in the morning to experience sunrise with clouds around. Though, the place is still not developed for tourists and the temple is work in progress.

Also, make sure to carry sufficient snacks and water as there is no places to eat. Do not litter the place and be a responsible traveler.

I would like to join if there are any rides happening this upcoming weekend.

I am under the weather. I hoped I would be fine, but doesn’t seem like it. Will be postponing it.
