Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

This page has been quiet for a while. Anyone up for a ride this weekend? I am not sure if it’s just a breakfast ride or one for the entire weekend. Just checking if there are any takers for either. We can figure out the rest through the rest of the week.

PS: I am not the best at planning routes but point me in a direction and I will ride

I only came to know about this thread while I was reading the amazing thread of the recent ride (Team-BHPians ride to Coonoor)

I've recently moved to Bangalore and I was looking forward to such rides. Please do update the thread if you guys have any ride plans next. Would love to join the ride and meet fellow BHPians.

Regards,

Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

Folks riding towards Kolar were stopped by cops a little after hoskote this morning. No drama no fines etc, they just asked all riding groups to take a U turn and head back. I may have spent like 2 mins waiting for the cops to decide what’s next. At the time I reached, there were about 20 odd bikes. This was at about 7.30 this morning. No clue if this was done cos of Covid related concerns or road safety. Either ways, seems like motorcycle lockdown is here to stay for a while.

Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

Went for a short ride on Saturday to Savanadurga and Manchanbelle Dam. Started at 6:00 AM and was back home by 10:30 AM. The roads are pretty damn good for most parts, especially the one from Manchanbelle to Nelamangala. Couldn't go all the way to Savandurga though. The local villagers were sending back people.

It was a hell of a route Snehal! I usually cover ORR. My route seems something like this:
Whitefield --> Mahadevpura --> Manyata --> Hebbal --> Vidhansoudha --> lalbagh --> BTM --> HSR --> ORR --> Marathahalli --> Whitefield

How's your take on the ride quality of your bike?

Re: Bangalore - Sunday Morning Short Rides

I took my Ntorq for ride today to Markonahalli Dam, off Hassan highway. Distance from Bangalore is 98kms.

A very serene and a scenic place indeed, especially the backwaters where a lot of fishing activity took place.

Enjoyed the lovely curves and stretches along the route.

Ride till Tavarekere was a bliss as the roads were empty with few vehicles, after crossing Tavarekere city it was busy will all kinds on vehicles plying on the road. To and fro from my home clocked around 90 kms, I must say it was a lovely break for me from regular day-to-day activities.

Route which I followed is -here-
Is Thippagondanahalli dam open to visitors/tourists nowadays?

Hi, I am not sure on that, last time when I visited I did not go inside, just did a u-turn and returned back home.
