Hey guys - I have a question. Did you guys by any chance come to Yelagiri hills at around 10 or 11ish in the night on 03 Nov 2018? I saw few big bikes coming over to our homestay asking for some address on the hills. Was it one of you guys?

That wouldn't have been us. We returned home after breakfast.

Couple of us had plans to ride up to Yelagiri, but the sun had come up and it was getting hot.

Made the big mistake of riding to Nandi Hills on a Sunday morning. It was around 930 that I started from the foothills and there was a continuous stream of vehicles coming downhill.
Out of all the rides I have done to the top since all these years, this was the slowest. There was a time when I would see just a couple of two wheeler through the whole stretch.

Yes Sir, it was indeed not a wise call. I made the same mistake few years back and since then have not gone back there on a Sunday/Holiday. If you really want to enjoy the ride there do that by about 7.00 am on a week day. Its a lovely ride still.

I was doing some slow speeds as seen in the video, more so since I was afraid some two wheeler would ram into me on a curve. Nevertheless, the bike is effortless in climbing up. Second and third would do it, right to the top.

I could let it crawl in third at low revs when I was tailing a car, which was again during the climb. With a load, it will take a bit more throttle to do the same. Overall, it was a smooth ride up, apart from the kamakazi's in the opposite lane.

Added_flavor and I were itching for a short breakfast ride and the destination was decided as Vijayapura to gorge on some yummy, crispy, tasty dosas from the famous Nani hotel. Added_flavor tagged along his wife and rk_sans also joined us. r_nairtvm wanted to join as well but since he was running late, he asked us to carry on. He did join us at Nani hotel sometime later as he wanted to do a short ride on his lovely Bonnie which hadn't run much after our Kotagiri ride.

On the way back, we rode around Fort Devanahalli, which happens to be Tipu Sultan's birthplace apparently. I'm sure this monument will be missed by many who travel on that road, I know I have. We decided to visit the fort next time.


And finally, my trusted steed which completed 6 years last Friday. Coincidentally, March 10, 2013 happened to be my first short ride on the bike for TBhp's meet - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/team-...0-bhpians.html (A not so "quick" Bangalore T-BHP meet with 25 cars, 10 bikes and 40 BHPians).

Destination - Shoolagiri dam + Murugan idli shop.
Meeting Time & Place - 6am. Bus stop 300 meters post EC elevated road toll and signal.

Should be back before 10am, as everyone wants to get home before the summer heat gets to them anyways.
