We're planning on a short ride to Savandurga this Saturday (28th). The rendezvous is at 6am at the Shell petrol pump near the Magadi-Nice Road exit.

Today's ride to Savandurga and Manchinbele dam was well worth it. The route that Mashblue took us through had some amazing stretches of roads. Except for the bit from Savandurga to Manchinbelle which has seen better days, the remaining stretches were mostly through small villages and towns. We rode through reserve forests and twisties and passed by some amazing scenery. A couple of snaps that we took along the way.

A short ride of 80 kms (one way) to Dandiganahalli dam with breakfast stop at Nandi Upchar/IPC is planned for this Sunday. Myself and Mashblue will be riding, if any of you wish to join, kindly PM either one of us for details.

We should start by 6:00am from Columbia Asia hospital just before the Airport road highway and be back well before noon.

Yes, ride is just an excuse to meet up, its goes beyond that. The aim is not to hit and run (come back) .

Well, honestly, the 160kms round trip can be done in less than a couple of hours. Our intention is to have a leisurely ride - breakfast, lot of bakar, click pictures, have smoke breaks and return well before noon .

Completed a solo short ride to Thippagondanahalli Reservoir. Did not take the usual route through magadi road from Kamaksipalya, I went till Bangalore University on old outer ring road and took the Kommaghatta lake route, roads were fantastic with newly laid tarmac. Enjoyed the lovely curves and stretches along the route.

Ride till Tavarekere was a bliss as the roads were empty with few vehicles, after crossing Tavarekere city it was busy will all kinds on vehicles plying on the road. To and fro from my home clocked around 90 kms, I must say it was a lovely break for me from regular day-to-day activities.

After doing the Anchetty loop several times, I decided to do something different and went left from Kanakapura, to try and reach Savanadurga, then Magadi, and finally NICE.

On a previous trip to Savandurga via NICE and Magadi, I realized that the Magadi to Savanadurga road is SH3, and given that the Kanakapura to Anchetty road is also SH3, my interest in Magadi to Kanakapura through SH3 got going.
So putting two and two together and looking up the route on Google Maps I decided to do the following route:

• NICE Junction Kanakapura Road
• Kanakapura Town
• Ramanagara
• Savanadurga
• Magadi
• NICE Junction Magadi Road
• NICE Junction Kanapura Road

The route is quite scenic and the roads are very good and todays weather was just awesome.
Thinking about going left next week too.

Hi All,
Did a Hogenekkal loop along with my 2 friends this weekend.

Below was our itinerary:

Bangalore->Hosur->Hogennekal->Anchetty->Kanakpura->Bangalore

06:45 AM – 07:00 AM: “ HI “ @ Ecity bus stop
07:30 AM – 07:45 AM: Fuel top-up just after crossing KA border
09:15 AM – 09:45 AM : Breakfast in Krishnagiri
11:00 AM – 11:30 AM : Site seeing, photo session in Hogenakkal
01:00 PM – 01:30 PM : Regroup at Kanakapura town; Lunch break
02:30 PM – 02:45 PM: “ BYE “ @ Kanakapura NICE junction.

Total trip in Kms: ~350

Initially we had planned for an Anchetty loop, but one of our fellow rider suggested a Hogenakkal loop, for which we agreed and planned our ride accordingly. Together we were 3 riders, myself [RE Desert Storm], Arun CA [RE Electra] and Arun Kumar [Benelli TNT 25].

Needless to say Benelli was our leader right from the start till end, I was happy to keep-up to his pace with my Desert Storm, what a great bike I have, realized the pure potential only after this long ride, I had misjudged the power and stability while I was using it only for city commute.

Roads right from the beginning till the end were great, nowhere we experienced bad tarmac or under-construction stretches. Traffic was also sparse in almost all places except in Kanakpura highway.

Luckily the rain gods had shown mercy on us, did not see a drop of rain during our ride. I was able to hit 110+kmph in Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri stretch and did not experience much of vibrations. Corners, bends and steep roads in Hogenakkal and Anchetty were easily covered without any hiccups.





Missed the boat ride in Hogenakkal as it was temporarily shut-down due to the boat driver’s strike. I was told that they may take back the strike in a week’s time or so. Oil bath and massage at that place was at full flow, which we did not ponder to experience as we were not ready with extra dresses.
But the masseur’s over there were forcing us a lot to try it once, for which we replied with the same answer as we have not come prepared. His answer for our problem was very simple, “Anna you buy a chaddi [shorts] for 100 bucks and a soap for 10 bucks, that’s all you need” which sounded true even to us and also there was a well maintained cloakroom to deposit our cloths and baggage. But still we did not go for it as we had to leave early before it would start pouring.





While heading back to Bangalore in Anchetty-Kanakpura stretch we spotted few bikers riding Himalayan, CBR250 and Bullets.

Finally we were happy to say good-bye near NICE junction and proceed to our home after a very good memorable one of many more rides to come.

There's a ride planned to Madhugiri this Saturday. We go via Dabaspet and return via Sira. A total of 200-250 klms. Rendezvous is at 6:15 am at the Nice- Tumkur Road exit.
